Steve, Thanks for that info. I was going by the US standard of the tenth digit indicating year (which I was expecting to be a 9 in this case). The fact that the Euro cars have a 0 in the tenth position no matter what makes me feel much better!!! Thanks again for the info. |

According to the FML, the tenth digit on most non-US cars would be a "0" regardless of model year (whereas on the US cars it does represent model year): http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/251280/257837.html Where are you getting the "tenth digit 0 = year 2000" interpretation? |

This may be a stupid question, but do Euro Ferraris have VIN numbers or are VIN numbers only assigned when the vehicle has its EPA/DOT done? The reason that I ask is that I am looking at a Euro car with a VIN number that shows a '0' in the 10th position (which indicates a year 2000 car) however the car is a 99. Could the '0' indicate the year of conversion? Any info would be greatly appreciated. TIA. |
