I hate saying BB. I rather call my car 512i or
injected Boxer.Most people identify just 512. |

BB512i is the correct designation. Why people started calling it the 512BBi is anyone's guess. |

Just got back from a weekend trip to Chicago, with my 83 Boxer. While driving, I am looking at the emblem on the glove box and it states: "BB 512i". On the rear it also states "BB 512i".
It is obvious that the BB 512i designation is the correct one, yet everyone I talk to uses 512 BBi, myself included.
My only conclusion is that "512 BBi" roles off the tongue easier. Makes sense?
