I have to agree with JRK the carbon in the pics is most definatly fake. I am sure that Mr. Coffing also picked up on this but he did not want to rock the boat. I will say, however, that this is not adhesive decal but rather a printed carbon 'look' finish. Either way it is not the real deal...kinda like a fake Rolex |

The Canadian company which is in the process of developing a carbon fiber stock of Ferrari parts is Kaz Automotive in Montreal. The owner is a good friend of mine and he an expert at fabrication in fiberglass and carbon fiber. Everything he does is top quality and reasonably priced. For info, contact Andre at: (514) 816-6009. The email address is: <[email protected]>. At present, he is well along at developing most of the interior pieces for 348's and is interested in building up his stock to include other models/ parts. |

Chris, looking at 348 pictures closely, I think its not real carbon fibre. Its looks like that fake carbon fibre adhesive film you buy for interior cars to make them look boy racer like. They have loads of this stuff in the UK.It seams to be badly shaped around the buttons and dials.... |

That weave pattern looks weird, and the parts don't look too shiny. I wonder if they're clear-coated. If not, they'll probably fade and yellow pretty quickly. I also wonder if they're just covers, or the real thing. Props to someone out there for making them, though. We've all heard of these mysterious Canadian 348 carbon parts, buy I've never seen any real info, prices, or pictures. Here's a pic of one of our shifter consoles. We have available or will soon have available carbon fiber replacements for all of the troublesome black plastic 348 interior parts. Chris Coffing Valence USA Ferrarichat Sponsor

All these 348 parts (and more) are already available from a company in Canada... I've seen them installed on Jeff Edison's car. See the old thread at http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/251280/227767.html

Maybe someone should try to make carbon fiber door panels as well. Might be an interesting addition to the rest. |
