Jay: Keep us informed as to how they turn out, how much, etc. This is something I'm afraid I'm going to be considering soon. I just "leatheriqued" my seats today, and when the stuff touches the seat, it sinks in and makes all the spider-webby cracks dark and very visible. Fortunately it dries and is easily forgotten. May try dying the seats first.

Jay:

gahh.com has replacement covers for quite a bit less, and the leather is exactly what came out of the car.

I haven't used Chris for years, but he does awesome Ferrari and other high end marques. He also sources incredible quality. He found the biggest pigskin I've seen to replicate Schedoni's suede Formula One seat upholstery.

Jay. Ferrari UK has new heel pads quite cheap, if yours are showing wear. Carpet is Wilton.

Very funny. Showing a red car to a Bull.
I have actually been in touch with "World Upholstery", and they are sending me samples of a leather that he says is going to be a better match than any Connolly that is not 25 years old. He is also sending a sample of carpet material, as I am going to make new front mats with the original heel pads.

Jay, I would say to just get a top quality leather that has the same grain pattern as the originals. That's what I'll be doing to mine.

Hi,

weve got 25000m of connolly leather. We arent able to sent samples because we dont know all the numbers etc. The minimum quantity is one half hide. The price will be 40/ m . If buy 3 hides we give 50% of the transport.

Bye

I'm on a leather group also and posted your same question about 6 months ago, and on occasion I get responses. I don't know anything about this place, not affiliated, etc.

www.leathercaredirect.com is the company that bought the Connelly assets. Personally, I have never been that impressed with the Connelly product, I imagine there must be a better replacement product. You should search the archives here as there have been several threads on this subject.

As far as I know the original seats are "Connolly" leather. I have an upholsterer who will completely reskin the front seats, as original for $1000, provided the hide can be bought for $450-$500. She would like me to help find as original a hide as possible. The work of this upholsterer is trophy winning quality, and I am thinking this is better than paying $1500+ for some premade skins and having them installed.
Any ides on a good source for an original looking hide, as I understand the original Connolly stuff is NLA. Thanks, Jay Morris
