This may sound redundent but, like Dave said... The H4 upgrade is money well spent. |

Replacing your headlamps? I did the same back in April. Would recommend a thorough reading of the following thread before you make a move on this. My setup is essentially identical to that of Mike Charness's, who was the original "implementor" of this idea (as well as good guy who helped me out immensely in this process). http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/256120/217706.html Mike Charness's original thread on the subject: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/256120/98730.html --Mike

I'll fourth Dave's recommendation. I took Dave's advice months ago and am VERY happy. Thanks again Dave. Tom |

I'll third Dave's suggestion on the Hella lights. I got mine a couple weeks ago from the place Dave recommends and they are a vast improvement over those antique yellow looking sealed beams. I am also using the +50% version. The total cost to replace both headlights with these units was $90 and now they take normal halogen bulbs that are much easier to change than those large sealed beams. They work better, look better and throw more light. Jonathan

I'll second Dave's Hella 55/60 recommendation. Besides the better lighting, I really liked the more modern look of the lenses -- flatter & clearer than a DOT sealed beam (although I can't seem to find a good illustration on the web). |

http://catalog.com/susq/hella/hdlmpprc.htm#7 Go to this site and upgrade to a set of Hella Euro code headlights and you will see a 200% improvement in lighting pattern and distance. The standard 55/60 watt bulbs are fine and recommended over the high watt ones which may not be compatible with the stock wiring, unless you upgrade and add relays with power straight off the battery. They do offer some standard bulb "upgrades" that offer slightly whiter, brighter output. I am using the Hella +50% uprgrade bulb, it is slightly better, but only marginally so.... |

You need to replace the lamp. It is just a simple sealed beam lamp that you can replace with one from Wal-Mart. |

Do I just need to replace the lamp, or could this be something else perhaps? It's just the left lamp low beam that's not working. |
