BTW, just to rub it in to TBC a little bit, I had a blast after the SCCA meeting running a couple sessions. Only one day after they so unprofessionally canceled the F Club when they over booked a larger group just like last month. The first kart was having problems, but instead of giving me a new one, they just messed with something in the back and it ran great. Anyone else have that happen before? |

I agree Tillman, I don't know if there's anything else we need to work out. It's a done deal and I will move the club on the best I can. I'm in an elected position (no one else ran this year), so if anyone wants to step up to lead the club I will step down. I still want to lead the club and I have some great ideas moving forward. However, this is your club. As long as no one does anything to hurt the club, I'm fine, you don't have to like me personally. |

Rob, I've said my piece and you've said yours. I think that any further public communication on this issue will only make others uncomfortable and harm an organization that I still respect, so I won't be posting about this anymore. You have my cellphone number and email. If I'm not in a meeting, I'll be willing to discuss this in a civil manner. I'm planning on being at the Exotic Car Night, so that's another opportunity. Good luck in the future.

Tillman, I'm serious about this now. I think you are a great guy and I appreciate everything you have done. I don't think you should take any blame for all that has happened. I don't think you are taking any blame as I think you've already put so much on me. I really like you as a person and I know you and many others really could care less for me. That's fine, I just wanted you to know. I've always been a very intense, "type A", over analytical, competitive, alpha monkey, or whatever. That's who I am and I know that doesn't win very many people over. I was really trying to act in the best interest of the club. In hindsight it may take a little more time to determine if I could of done something different. I never regret anything that happens, only learn from it and move on. To be honest, I care nothing for TBC right now. I still stand by all my statements about them and even with the way I handled them over the past several months, I still feel like there should of even been more done. They really got away with murder. If the owners of TBC knew what was really going on they would have a fit, I think that's why the local management is so threatened. Otherwise, I don't take back anything I said about you either. I really don't think you've been aggressive enough with handling this, but that's who you are and your style. I'm sorry you think my style reflected poorly on you personally. That's really another problem of TBC, no one in our club truly thinks you instigated this. Everyone knows the full story. Through all of this you have really sounded like a TBC sympathizer. I find it hard to believe they found FerrariChat.com and this thread by just "searching" on the internet. I've never submitted FC to a search engine. It's very hard to find, although some bots have found it without me even listing it. www.fcadfw.com has no link to FC, I think maybe your site does, so maybe you gave them your site address? The entire thing is just ridiculous and TBC has shown nothing but immaturity, incompetence, mismanagement, and malicious behavior. If that doesn't fire you up, nothing would. Do you realize that if we would of shown up at TBC last night we would have the exact same situation as last month with the overbooking. They pulled one over your eyes man and your reaction is just what they were looking for. They're in their office with a little grin because you got ticked off, symphonized with them, and came after me. No bother to me, but that's the situation if you realize it or not. The countdown to the TBC closing party is on. The exact date TBD, anyone want to start making guesses for a beer? Closest to the date without going over. My guess is 16 months.

Tillman, thank you for your efforts in setting up and maintaining this event. I always looked forward to it and will miss it's passing. I'm pissed too. I pissed because TBC can't respect the freedom of speech that is one of the founding tenets of this country. I'm pissed because they refused to take our comments as constructive. The condition of many of those carts was unbelievable. I'm pissed because they hold you responsible for this, when the majority of it would have been avoided if they'd simply called us when they were overbooked. I'm pissed that they're willing to walk away from a great deal of potential business. I had to explain to my boss today why my cart event for our team was no longer a good idea, he'd expanded the thought to bring the entire department. All that being said, there's plenty of blame to go around, but that accomplishes nothing. I really hope we can find another venue, and I hope all will continue to participate. |

This is old, but I think we need some humor... A Bad Day... When you have a really bad day and you just need to take it out on someone, don't take it out on someone you know, take it out on someone you DON'T know. Now get this.... I was sitting at my desk, when I remembered a phone call I had to make. I found the number and dialed it. A man answered saying, "Hello?" I politely said, "This is Fred Hanifin and could I please speak to Robin Carter?". Suddenly the phone was slammed down on me! I couldn't believe that anyone could be that rude. I tracked down Robin's correct number and called her. She had transposed the last two digits incorrectly. After I hung up with Robin, I spotted the wrong number, 823-4863, still lying there on my desk. I decided to call it again. When the same person once more answered, I yelled, "You're an !" and hung up. Next to his phone number I wrote the word "," and put it in my desk drawer. Every couple of weeks, when I was paying bills, or had a really bad day, I'd call him up. He'd answer, and I'd yell, "You're an !". It would always cheer me up. Later in the year the Phone Company introduced caller ID. This was a real setback for me; I would have to stop calling the . Then one day I had an idea. I dialed his number and when I heard his voice, "Hello?" I made up a name. "Hi. I'm with the Telephone Company and I'm just calling to see if you'd be interested in our caller ID program?" "No!" he shouted and slammed the phone down. I quickly called him back and said, "That's because you're an !". Keep reading this, it gets better !!........ An old lady at the shopping center really took her time pulling out of a parking space. I didn't think she was ever going to leave. Finally, her car began to move and she started to very slowly back out of the slot. I backed up a little more to give her plenty of room to pull out. "Great", I thought, she's finally leaving. All of a sudden this black BMW comes flying up the parking aisle in the wrong direction and pulls into her space. I hit the horn and started yelling, "You can't do that. I was here first!". The guy climbed out of his BMW completely ignoring me and walked toward the shopping center as if I didn't even exist. I thought to myself, this guy's another ; there sure are a lot of assholes in this world. Then I noticed he had a "For Sale" sign in the back window of his car. I wrote down the phone number and then hunted for another place to park. A couple of days later, I'm sitting at my desk. I had just gotten off the phone after calling 823-4863 and yelling, "You're an !" (It's really easy since I have his number on speed dial now). I noticed the phone number of the guy with the black BMW there on my desk and thought I'd better call this guy, too. After a couple rings someone answered the phone and said, "Hello." I said, "Is this the man with the black BMW for sale?" "Yes, it is." "Can you tell me where I can see it?" "Yes, I live at 1802 West 34th street. It's a yellow house and the car's parked right out front." I said, "What's your name?" "My name is Don Hansen." "When's a good time to catch you, Don?" "I'm home in the evenings." "Listen Don, can I tell you something?" "Sure..." "Don, you're an !" And I slammed the phone down. Then, I added Don Hansen's number to my speed dialer. I must say, for a while things seemed to be going much better for me. Now when I had a problem I had two assholes to call. Then, after several months of calling the assholes and hanging up on them, it just wasn't as enjoyable as it used to be. I gave the problem some serious thought and came up with this solution: First, I had my phone speed dial #1. A man answered nicely, "Hello?" I yelled "You're an !", but I didn't hang up. The said, "Are you still there?" I said, "Yeah." He said, "Stop calling me." I said, "Make me." He said, "What's your name, pal?" So I told him, "Don Hansen." He said, "Where do you live?" "1802 West 34th Street. It's a yellow house and my black BMW's parked out front." "I'm coming over right now, Don. You'd better start saying your prayers." "Yeah, like I'm really scared, !", and I hung up. Then I called #2. Don Hansen answered, "Hello?" I said, "Hello, ." He said, "If I ever find out who you are..." "You'll what?" "I'll kick your ass." "Well, here's your chance. I'm coming over right now, ." And I hung up. Then I picked up the phone and called the police. I told them I was on my way to 1802 West 34th Street and that I was going to kill my gay lover as soon as I got there. Another quick call to Channel 13 about the gang war going on down on West 34th Street... After that I climbed into my car and headed over to 34th Street to watch the whole thing. Glorious satisfaction! Watching two assholes kicking the crap out of each other in front of 6 squad cars, a police helicopter and a news crew was one of the greatest experiences of my life! Well, Now you know what to do if you have a really bad day!!! |

Lets not let this turn in to a mud throwing fest. I think Tillman feels responsible as he was the connect between us and them and he is probably embarrassed that he got that call based on other's actions. Of course TBC could/should have handled it more professionally with more notice and better cart maintenance, but they didn't. Perhaps we expected too much from them and that is not the place we need to be. We are the ones who kept going back until they said don't come so who is the sucker? Anyway, the series was for a points total, but it was also for fun and a reason to get together. It is not F1 racing with careers at stake so let it roll off your backs and lets move on. |

Tillman, I understand you're upset, but a good leader has to stand up for the people they are leading. How many people showed up for our events only to have money and time wasted? Why do you think we didn't have very many return to the events a second time? The quality of the events was poor for multiple reasons (no fault of yours), but you have to have the balls to make things right. Going through life timid and letting others stomp all over you is no way to lead. Tough decisions and risks must be made and I had to step in to do that. I'm sorry you see it as my fault, but I would be more concerned with all of those over the past year that let TBC use them because we didn't stand up sooner. $30+ an event and all that time? The way TBC conducted business is inexcusable and anyone that doesn't recognize it or want to stand up to it should be a follower. I will be more than happy to accept this adversity, learn from it, and then lead the move forward. Although your comments were personal and directed at me, I can take it. Don't blame me for having the balls to stick up to them when you didn't. I'm happy at the end of the day if I moved forward and no one took advantage of me. TBC was taking advantage of us, but they aren't any more and that's the point. Anyone else feel like Tillman does? Get some balls, why couldn't you discuss this when we talked on the phone yesterday? Lead, Follow, or Get Run Over |

Even though this really is out of my control, I do want to apologize to anyone who went to TBC Tuesday. I would have been there to explain the situation, but I personally have been banned from the site, because according to Mr. Hill I am "the communication officer of the club" and thus responsible for the postings. I was therefore unable to be at TBC, and really didn't feel like going to what inevitably would have been a session at D & B. If this shows a lack of character, so be it. While there may have been other underlying issues with overbooking and such, the official reason that we were asked to leave was due to conflicts with the onsite manager and postings on this website that mocked the personnel of the facility. Specific posts on http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/6532/229627.html were cited; I notice that those posts have now been removed from the thread. The bottom line is that we were kicked out because some people in the group were damned rude. All the posturing in the world about broken contracts and such isn't going to change that fact. I'm upset. But I'm not upset at TBC only. I'm upset that although my write-ups were as neutral as possible throughout the year, I'm held responsible for comments made by others. I'm upset that the work that has gone into this series just got destroyed, simply because some wannabe alpha-males insisted on shaking their genitals at each other. I'm upset that some people can't see that roles and actions are always related, even when they don't want them to be. I'm upset that those who just wanted to have a good time and hang out are now SOL and I'm PISSED that I'm upset. This is supposed to be a hobby, not yet another source of stress. So, to heck with this. As far as I'm concerned the series is over. The championship trophies are already ordered, and will be here in a few weeks. Those who are in 1st, 2nd and 3rd at this moment, I will send you your trophies in the mail. If anyone else decides to take over and continue this series, Ill be more than happy to send you an excel file, the points guide, and the bill for the trophies. Have a nice day.

Not much time to talk, but I would first of all like to thank those that still showed up for our alternative plans. This afternoon really started off crappy for our club with TBC's last minute notice of the cancellation. This action on the part of TBC was very malicious and will not go without consequences. Those consequences I'm sure will seem insignificant on their part, but there are now 220 members of the FCA DFW that are now fully aware of their business practices. Our members represent some of the most distinguished and respected members of the local business community. The association of our club and members with other local motorsports clubs is also significant within itself. The countdown is now on, upon the failure and closing of TBC we will have a FCA DFW celebration to rival all others. I have presented the facts, it's the individual choice of each member of our club how they communicate this information through the DFW community. It's my personal opinion that the end is near for TBC. Again, under these very adverse conditions today I believe a persons stature is determined more than at times of the norm. Thanks to Jim, Ken, Wes, Greg, Don, Jon, Hunter, and the others that didn't let TBC win the day. Thanks, rob

I am not of the opinion that they overbooked. Since there is animosity towards our group, I would not be surprised if they booked over us and purposely waited until today to tell us about it. One over booking is can be explained as a mistake. A second one is purposeful - unless there employees are just that absent minded that they can't look at their reservations book. I am not willing to cut them any slack. We have all seen how the business is run. |

I think Wes is right, it was just cowardice on their part. If they had just called and said "we have a big group here tonight" I don't think any of us would've had a problem rescheduling. Maybe their Tuesdays are full for the summer. So NOW what do we do? Speedzone? Dave and Busters? Radio control cars in my driveway? |

I actually think they just overbooked again. Since I had not read the post I showed up, as did a couple others. I saw a number of people head into the building (dropped off by a mini-shuttle), and there were a lot of people driving in at about that time. So my guess is they had another large booking and probably wanted to avoid confrontation. In any event, still bad business practice to not honor a standing reservation and not provide more advance notice of the cancellation. |

So let me get this straight. Since THEY double booked the last event over our long standing regular schedule and did not respect OUR valuable time by trying to put us off for several hours so they could cater to a new group, we are somehow being stone walled? Now I fully respect their offer and follow through on the free passes, but this is a little insulting to say that we, as a group, are no longer welcome. Now, I know there were some heated discussions with them by some people last time, but I can hardly see how that was unjustified due to their mixup. It would seem to me that repeat business such as ours is just what that place needs. Not to mention the wide influence to new business we might also have (see Jim E's post below). I know I was thinking of bringing my whole office, and had actually mentioned it to many friends and clients. But I think that they just officially lost my recommendation. If I were them, I would certainly put up with whatever perceived inconvience we may have caused in return for the payoff we bring. I think all that they have caused now is bunch of ill will and lost business. Well I wish them the best with their business, and I will certainly miss the fun times with the group. By the way, what would keep us from all going in there on a Tuesday night anyway. Are they going to turn us away individually? |

Umm, so why are they telling us 4 hours before our event? Again, another proof of their professionalism. Sorry my feedback from over a month ago is impacting everyone's fun tonight. I have no control over their actions and mismanagement. We all knew they had problems and our time and money were being wasted. My feedback to them was to improve the event so that we weren't wasting that time and money. If you don't agree with this, please let me know. SCCA will be there tomorrow night, you're welcome to attend then. Want to meet up at Humperdinks at 7pm? We can decide if we want to hit Speedzone if it's dry. |

Hey guys I just received a call from Eddie Hill from TBC, and he no longer wants us at the facility due to comments from Rob and others concerning the April 8/15th event. There will be no karting event from this point, unless someone can offer an alternative location Be aware that Eddie Hill said that "their attorneys are watching the board and printing out the posts". Ok, I'm trying to get a hair cut for right before. However, if I can talk Jennie into coming she'll bring a case of beer for us in the garage. Hopefully I can be there by 6:45 or so. |

I was game to go w/ you Rob, but I have to drive home first. I guess I'll be there at 7:00. |

Looks like I'm in one piece, so if anyone wants to meet ahead of time for a eat and drink I'm game. Anyone know a good place? |

I skipped dessert last time, but I had a few of the $1 truffles. My total cost was $8, plus $12 for beer, and maybe $6 in truffles. So $26. |

So the free buffet will only cost me $32. Assuming I only have one desert. |

Just think though...where else do you get that kind of dessert for such a "reasonable" price. |

Depending on Mavs, and remotely on Stars schedule, I am planning on coming.

Yea, I know this great little place with a free buffet on Tuesday nights. It's happens to be just down the street. Very good entertainment too, I suggest 5:30 or 6pm. |

I'm there as of today, but who knows what will come up between now and then. Rob, do you want to hook up before the races for dinner? No sense in driving home first since I'm almost there anyway. |

Here we go again! The next round is May 13th at 7:00 PM. Who's in? I'm there, even if the 328 isn't... For those who aren't familiar with the series, info is available at http://www.strahan.org/FCA/ The round 4 recap and points are up, by the way. |
