It's time for new tires front and back. What does everyone use and or recommend
I also need new tires desperately. Any recommendations for a car that will actually see some rain and (maybe) snow? I am willing to trade off (a bit of) dry performance to get all-season traction. Ideas?
Here's last month's suggestions http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/360-430/461108-360-tires.html - its always worth a search.....
Michelin Pilot Sports A/S. Had them on my XK8 (replaced the PZeros) same on my 360. Much less expensive ($850 a set from Discount Tire) and IMO just as good and last longer. Alan
Just put new shoes on my 430 spider MPSS . If they were good enough for the F GTO they are good enough for me. I switched form the Pirelli s. Love them great ride and grip. I think 1700 all in.
+1 - I have nothing but great things to say about these tires. Impressive in all conditions (incl snow.)
Go for TOYO Proxes TS, Hankook K107 or 117,Yokohama or even Kumho's with Y speed label if you don't think to use them in track, street race or extreme wet conditions. Oem pirelli p zero asimettricos, bridgestone S02s are old technology tires and belong to previous century. Even current modern mid budget tires are performing better than these ones. The best tire in the market is Michelin PSS but it is real pricey. If you don't use MPSS's advantages why do you pay for them? Maybe you should ignore nexen, federal, etc with W speed label but consider mid budget brands with Y label.
I put a set of Bridgestone S0-4 poles on my Scud rims, so 19" sizes, $1000 mounted, balanced, and Nitrogen filled. Great in between tire, decent in rain, very comfortable ride and good dry grip. Not quite the ultimate dry grip as a RE-11, or a MPSS, but nice compromise. If you have a lot of inclement weather, sounds like the Michelin a/s is the tire.
I had the dealer put on MPSS on my 430 when I purchased it, I have been very impressed with them, I have almost 1000 miles on this month, and they have been great
Just had RE-11s installed on mine. When you order from Tire Rack, just remind them to give you a new tires. My 2 fronts are dated late 2011 so I am a little annoyed.
This is why I ordered local.... They matched Tire Rack price and worked to get the newest date code on my set, went as far as having them shipped in from a further distributor to get a set straight off the boat from Japan. 10 week old tires. Tire rack could not tell me date codes or even guarantee they would be within 6 months, this being my criteria. Local shop guaranteed this and I kept my purchase $$ in my City and supported a local business .
Anyone here running wider then oem dimensions when it comes to tires ? I am running 19" challenge wheels on my 360 and it look like I have plenty of room to run a beefier tire setup.
Hard to make a valid suggestion unless you tell us what your intended use for the car is. What is your driving style? Do you plan on using the car in cold weather (below 40F)? Do you commute in the car? Is the car driven in the rain?
