Hello Folks, We've finally had some time to document some 550 sticky refinishing. As our standard process, all parts with graphics are laser etched - no stick on decals. Here are a few completed parts - will post more over time In 99% of the cases, we fully disassemble the parts, refinish and reassemble when complete. This dome light is a prime example - everything fully disassembled including the wiring Thanks for looking Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello Folks, So we recently refinished a complete set of parts for a customers 550 who is working to make the car a 100 point car - Very nice guy He asked us if we could help him with his dirty and tired aluminum pedals.... We cleaned, glass bead blasted, tumbled and stain anodized these - I think they came out very nice. In fact, I will be doing the same to my 355 pedals Pardon the placement of the pedals in the photos... Before and after Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you, Bill - we appreciate that Here is a 550 upper steering cover refinished Image Unavailable, Please Login
If a car is 16 years old and has Nil, Zero, Zilch traces of the Sticky, AND they have never been treated or replaced, where's the catch ?
Did it get sorted at some point during the production or is build-year nothing to do with it ? One of the ex-Jap cars I saw recently, sub 20.000km and 2001, had such awful surfaces that your fingers came away blackened and sticky just from opening the bonnet. I wonder if the problem is exacerbated by using certain cleaning agents, as the UV sunshine argument wouldn't hold for the roof panel nor for the bonnet flap, would it ? Since the seller of the car in question brushed the issue off as being easy to fix "with acetone or methylated spirits" which he assured me were "the same thing", I think his switches may have been so awful precisely because he had been having a go himself with a home-brewed approach. Can I assume that ALL cars will eventually have the problem, ore there indeed other owners who never get it, or never more than the handbrake button ?!
Rory, Yes - you can assume all cars that have soft touch coatings will eventually fail. Last week, we got 488 parts in. Not sticky but the clear soft touch is peeling. See this thread, I explain a lot of details within it: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/technical-q/520454-understanding-ferraris-sticky-interiors-technical-guide.html

I've just purchased a 550 that had your Sticky No More completed 6-7 years ago, my question is how long will this last (the car is never left in the sun or extreme heat)?
Recently engaged Dave to re-finish virtually entire interior "stickies"...a very very pleasant experience start to finish. Professional, courteous, timely with constant communication. All pieces return shipped packaged like the "Crown Jewels"....with the quality to match. Thanks again Dave, Jacik
Thank you, Jack! One of our customers, Steve Castillo (Ferrari Steve), just shared this from his customer who posted on Facebook the results on the work we did on his car via Steve (who is super cool tech in the Houston area) Image Unavailable, Please Login
