Here at TAG, we have the privilege of meeting clients that have various needs, and our job is to find a solution that meets each one of their needs.

This particular project was no different. Our good client called us a few weeks back to inform us his new 2016 F12 was early done and getting ready to board the ship, and sent us a few photos. After talking a bit more, he mentioned how much he was bored with his current daily driver, his 2011 California. Compared to his 458 Spider and his freshly incoming F12, he said he needed to do something to "spice it up". We got to thinking and an obvious choice was to go with a set of wheels and lower it. We opted for HRE's RS100M monoblock wheel as it was a crowd favorite on our TAG California T project (Click HERE to check out the FerrariChat Build Thread), however rather than going with the 21"/22" setup, being that this is a daily driver, we went with the 20"/21" setup. This also was able to keep the ride quality very similar to the factory and also re-use then OEM front tire. We also went a step further and had our neighbors at HRE Machine us a set of billet center cap adapters for the OE Ferrari centercap which added the extra class to the wheel.

One of the biggest eyesore's in our opinion of any California (incl Cali T) is the giant wheel gap. So we phoned our friends at Novitec for a set of their adjustable lowering springs, which allowed us to close that gap enough and again, retain the ride quality. Add that to the TAG Specific fitment of the HRE's ensuring no rubbing, no headache, no hassle setup!

Finally, for a little added power, we added the Novitec ECU Upgrade. This added 25HP and about the same amount of torque, as well as giving us an increased redline to 8300RPM, and best of all, the ability to open and close the valves using the Manettino on the Steering Wheel!

The end result was absolutely stunning. We modernized the car, helped it feel more planted and gave it a completely different look while keeping the original ride and comfort as close to the factory as possible. The client was extremely pleased with the look of his "New" daily driver.

    Complete Mod List:

-HRE RS100M Wheels in Satin Black Finish 20x9 Front, 21x10.5 Rear
    -245/35/20 & 285/30/21 Pirelli PZero Tires
    -Novitec Lowering Springs
    -Novitec ECU Upgrade

The original Cali was designed and usually configured, right from the factory, to appeal to a broader owner profile than the more traditional Fcar - that was the stated intent of this new class of Fcar. So a potential owner needs to understand that in order to make the car more focused around personal tastes, you have to customize it. There's no mystery to it.

This car achieves that from several standpoints - all black colour scheme already gives it character to the onlooker. The new up-sized rear wheels, ride height and ECU upgrade focus the car further for the car owner. I generally hate black wheels but I would admit they look "the part" on this all-black beauty. Well done!
