On October 27Th P 4/5 Competizione will return to The Ring. We've done a futher EVO and hope to be a bit faster. We also hope to lower our Ring Time Record for a Ferrari Powered car below 6:51 and as this race will be part of The FIA World Championship Alternate Energy Cup, which we're currently leading in class 7, we also hope to win an FIA World Championship at this Race. We're considering various possibilities for 2013 and 2014. The LMP1 rules for 2014 are very suited to an Alternate Energy Car and we're exploring the possibility of building and racing P 4/5 LMP in 2014. For that to happen we would of course have to raise considerable sponsorship and while that is by no means assured we are taking the first step with these renderings. Jim, I wish you the best of luck, it would be incredible to see this come to fruition. The drawings look great and I'm sure your team is more than up to the task of putting this all together. Should this get done, we need to organize an FChat LeMans trip. Mark
We're looking at a number of possibilities but these sketches are Aero Correct for the 2014 rules. We would be the constructor including the chassis. Engine/Alternate Systems TBD.
We all knew that P4/5C would continue racing for at least a year... But i wasn't expecting that ! Given the fact that there are almost no more private manufaturers in P1: Lola is not in great shape at the moment (despite a record sale of 9 chassis for 2012) and pescarolo is out of buisness... again... That would be sensational ! honestly. But i suspect this hypothetical project will not be build on a standard ferrari rolling chassis or with P4/5C itself. Carbon tub ? Ferrari power ? What is that bizarre thing on the top of the air intake ? You can count on our passion and support. All the best
This would be fantastic! Only problem I see in the car's design is that there is no convenient place to mount the NY license plate on the rear. .
maybe this should be named P5/6 good luck Jim! I assume no plans to race in America given the impending GA/ALMS merger and likely elimination of an ACO P1 class here?
I think in 2014 The WEC will race in the US maybe at The Austin F1 Track. Thanks To All of You for your Wishes!
sorry, what I meant was you're going WEC and not ALMS/GA/whatever it's called in 2014. to that end, have you heard anything re: Sebring and/or Petit being on the 2014 WEC schedule?
Get Gawker Media to pony up some cash - Jalopnik has earned more than their fair share of click-throughs combing your threads on this site for material to put on their site. Everyone wave to Hardigree and Wert.
I didn't realize the cost of racing had dropped so dramatically. But even still! I never kissed a girl for another girl's benefit. "Hey, baby! Look at me snaking my tongue down this chick's throat. You should totally let me come over there and do the same thing to you once I'm done over here - oh, and I won't even wait for my spit on your lips to dry before I make fun of what you're wearing." Yeah, me and Jalopnik kiss a bit differently.
As an aside the new P12 McLaren looks a bit LMP1. LMP1 cars have much narrower cockpits and chassis than road cars to allow massive aero flow through. P12 in wind tunnel. Image Unavailable, Please Login
