I was in LA last week and got a chuckle from seeing this parked behind a small shop that seemed to focus on Lambos Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yet inside is by appointment only. Maybe Rick should remove this from their web site: We have been a Factory Authorized Dealer since 1981, so we’ve been doing this a while, and we know what's important to our clients. Please enjoy our website and whenever you’re in our neighborhood, stop by and have a look around. We look forward to showing you all that our sports car campus has to offer! https://www.ferrarilakeforest.com/about-us/
I bought my first Ferrari there. Had a great experience. Same with the service department. However in my last encounter with sales I was treated in the most condescending manner imaginable. I would never buy a car from these guys again. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I had my 2006 430 spider in for service and asked them to have sales look at it for trade in valuation as I was thinking about moving up to a 458. Mine is a 2 owner car with all service records since new. Higher mileage (currently 46K) and front bumper repaint due to chips. Easily a 95-100K retail car at that time, so being realistic I figured it was worth 75-80 on trade. When I picked up my car and walked across the lot the salesman literally looked down his nose at me and in an unbelievably condescending tone said "if we HAD to take it to facilitate a sale, we'd give you $40,000". I was deeply offended not just by the low ball offer but even more so by his tone and demeanor.
And now Continental AutoSports is also by appointment only. I'm not in to wasting a salesman's time. But my god, they used to promote events encouraging folks to visit their showroom. https://www.continentalautosports.com/
I know. Hopefully that is just for "serious inquires only" sales. I sent an e-mail asking about this. I'll keep you posted. Joe
Sad. I also greatly lament the demise of their annual "yard sale" in the spring. That was such a nice opportunity to catch up with friends and spend a nice Sunday morning talking cars.
Interesting, and sad. here in Austin, the dealer has (over the last couple of years) really upped their game getting involved in the FCA locally. We had a wonderful event this past Saturday that started at the dealership, everyone inside and out, snacks / coffee bar inside the showroom... but, I suppose that is smart. If you were silly enough to own one.... why not another / upgrade?
It is funny how both dealers have completely shut off any social event other than to a list of customers. Both used to have very nice events, open to all. And yet we see dealers in other states doing the opposite. Multiplying the number of open house events.
Got a response from the parts manager at Continental AutoSports today. He confirmed that they are by appointment only. He provided the reason. Anyone care to take a guess why?
Maybe Continental needs to move the Ferrari store farther west in Chicagoland, away from Cook County!!
