    This is a true collector quality 1978 Ferrari 308 GTS.

    Fchat is the only place we are listing this car, as it will be going onto Bring a Trailer. But if an Fchat member wants to buy it prior to our BAT listing, the price is $124,900.

    This is a ONE OWNER car with 15,284 original miles.

    This car has been correctly stored and meticulously maintained.

    We have never had a 308 in this condition. Nearly every part looks new, and the engine is clean enough to eat off of.

    Last big service was 8/1/23 by Prancing Horse, Inc.

    This car is all original with the only flaw being a small amount of “crows feet” in the paint near the front of the drivers door. Anyone who knows early 308’s knows that this is common and proves the paint is original. We have chosen not to fix it, to protect its originality.

    The seats are aged, but not worn. Again, we could freshen them with dye, but have chosen the originality route. We may dye them before the Bat listing

    The car starts right up and runs smooth and strong. The clutch and the transmission are crisp.

    Parts that are commonly broken or corroded on these are are perfect on this car, including the spring loaded prop that holds up the rear deck lid, all the black caulk is complete and looks fresh, there is no corrosion on any of the plastic parts, the rear luggage area is still tight, and the zipper works. Even the clock works. The books and tools are complete and clean.

    The only non original thing on this car is a battery tender.

    Mirrors and gear shift knob also not original. I do like the wheel and mirror upgrades, but prefer the original look of the 8 ball on the shifter.

    Horse in the grill also should'nt be there. Quite a lot of incorrect things for an ALL ORIGINAL CAR.
    The only non original part on this car is the battery tender AND, the wheels, the mirrors, the shifter ball, the grill horse and ..............................

    All of the emissions control parts that are visible: complete air injection system (Air pump with brackets, diverter valve, injection manifolds and all plumbing), evaporative control system, ignition retard system are all missing. The aluminum heat shielding has been stripped off of the exhaust headers. The muffler is not original. The exhaust sampling tubes have been removed and ports in exhaust headers plugged. I would be willing to bet that the catalytic converters along with the thermocouples/slow-down warning system have been removed as well. The car is not legal for sale in California in its present condition. It will also not do well at a a Ferrari car show without all of the OEM parts.

    While a lot of people may make light of NOT having the items Motab stated- these cars are very challenging to get the carbs set up correctly without the ability to use the original sniffer tubes on each header. The ability to use an exhaust gas analyzer on each cylinder, to set the carb was a wonderful feature. Every barrel of these carbs are individually adjustable, and without these tubes, tuning this car is a quantum leap harder. Whoever did this to the car, obviously had no clue. A beautiful low mile car, deserved to have these parts fixed, not butchered .
