He has ads in Hemmings for certain things & it appears he is in Washington now? I know he has had a certain reputation from over the years.

I have personal experience with him and would never deal with him again. I would also recommend all steer clear. Years ago, I paid for parts in full and received one part a month later and the other part 6 months later (after I had filed a case with the USPS for mail fraud). To top it off, the part that I received after 6 months was the wrong one. Try him if you want, but don't say I didn't warn you.

The GTO front valance and bumper I put on my 308 came from Jim. The service...well it took a while...a long while. As far as the parts go, they were good. The only complaint I had with the parts is that I thought they were GTO parts designed to fit a 308, but in fact were copies of actual GTO parts and really don't fit the 308 quite right. I needed to get pretty creative with bumper adapter brackets and the valance had to be flexed in an inch + per side and the seam wasn't quite the right length, I had to split the difference a bit. That said, it doesn't look bad and in the 5 or 6 years since I installed it no one has ever noticed, or at least they never mentioned it.

My valance is getting a bit beat-up…because I’m not as careful as I should be and I would probably buy another one from Jim….but based on my experience with shipping time and other stories, I would probably insist on payment though an escrow service so I didn’t have to think or worry about money out for parts that may not come.

Now that I think about it, I also bought a tach on ebay that turned out to come from Jim. It didn’t work when it arrived, but was only $50 I think and looked a LOT nicer than the one I had, so I kept it. I went down to pepboys and bought a sun tach and stuff the guts into the ebay tach and and everything was good again.

Sounds like this vendor not only can't write a coherent post, but has several strikes after reading the threads. Thanks for the warning guys!

Wow, I just read the threads, Jim Carpenter has a lot of balls to come on here and attempt to defend himself.
