    hi,just got a 09 scud for 2 months,wow what a car!
i heard some knocking sound came from the front suspension, dealer said it's normal and the sound do disappear for a while after dealer did some lubrication work but then came back again...
is it really a characteristic of the scud and any way to solve it?

    thanks

My F430 had the same problem and I had to insist really a lot to get it resolved. The knocking noise came from the front swaybar which was moving between both wheels. After several attempts, they eventually fixed it by changing all link parts between the sway bars to the suspension.

Hi RS4 and welcome to F-Chat. Nice car you've landed yourself there! Well done.

It could be as suggested above or indeed it could be wear in the lower or upper ball joints (or both) on the wishbones on either or both sides. Could also be wear of the flanbloc bushings where the wishbones connect to chassis.

I'd be inclined to bring it on back to dealer for diagnosis and repair if you have any warranty.

    Best of luck.

I have had this issue on my F430. Would go into dealership and come back fine. Would drive it in the rain and noise would be back next day. They said they had to re-lube the joints with a "better" lubricant that would not wash out. Have not driven in the rain since so will see whether they are correct.

Congrats on the car - awesome choice

There shouldn't be any sound from a Scuderia suspension, especially a Scuderia, a car that comes with stronger suspension parts than a F430.

Mine has no sounds. I have installed the Challenge bushings (delrin) which are noisy, but the right lubrication made them quite. The stock Scuderia bushings don't cause any sounds,, by design they are quieter than the Challenge bushings.

    - Check your sway bar lubrication at the bushings attaching to the chassis, as well as the joints with the lower wishbone, and the link between the sway bar and the drop link.

    - Check the lube on the delrin sleeves (4 of them used in the front axle) supporting the springs.

    - Re-torque the upper and lower wishbone attachments to the chassis.

    - Check for play on the upper and lower monoballs attaching to the wheel carrier.
