There have been a few threads on this car. Apparently its been for sale for about 2 years. Personally I love it. But then I love highly modified Ferraris
Beautiful car. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just love the thought of turning up at an Foc trackday with something completely different rather than the swarms of 360's etc... (not that I have anything against them)
It certainly looks the part and there is very obviously a market for them (not this one though, its been knocking around for ages ). Agree it would make a great track car though.
Me no likey - sure something different is always good, but this is too far from the norm for my liking.. just my 2p's worth
And of course the 308 has a transverse engine and the 288 a longitudinal, and the 288 has a longer chassis so none of these is really even a good replica. Not for me thanks
I remember seeing it for sale about 18 months ago. I don't think its too bad money at just over £51k with the dollar so bad.
But would you call it a replica?. I would refer to it as a race car. the 288 doesn't have that rear wing or the air ducts coming over the roof. Yes it does resemble the 288 but not exactly. jmho
I know of a 308 that is having a 348 engine fitted longitudinally and has been rebodied to look like a 288.
They've ruined what was a beautiful design. If they had just left it as a GTO replica, that would have been fine, but that spoiler and those air vents. Yuk!!!
In fairness those mods are purely functional. The snorkels will get loads of cool air to the engine. The rear wing needs to be that highly mounted to generate any sort of decent downforce without ruining the aerodynamics. Personally I like it, it would look great on a trackday or at a motorsport event, but I would feel a bit of a prat parking it at Tescos!
I'm pretty sure that was built by Norwood who specialises in these. It wouldn't have been put on if its not necessary. To me its a purpose built race car. And who knows it might have been built from a crashed 308
I agree...... I don't like the wing or the intake vents... Though since they were departing from the 'replica' look they should have went with better wheels IMO. I still think it looks very tough in Nero !
