I know this is a bit late, but was looking through this post and noticed the Lucas Fuse boxes, just like my TR6. Scary to think that these are better perhaps than Fiat sourced boxes. I may never be able to own a Ferrari, but my TR6 is fun, and I have the same fuse box as a racing Ferrari. And a famous one at that. Do they still use Lockheed Girling brakes, or Dunlop?

Wonderful, but I do have to say not as awesome visually as #0846 was when she was a coupe (yes I prefer coupes) and solid blood red + gold wheels ...

The roof line of the coupe is just wonderful :).

How do you decide which one to take out ... do you have a white board roster so all cars get exercised?

Jim, would love to see 0854 now that it's finally finished. West coast is the wrong coast. :) Lime Rock Historic is out (for good reason). Any plans this year for Americana Manhasset Concours, Oct.11 ?
Have you ever been to Caffeine & Carburetors in New Canaan? (closer than Lime Rock) (Sun. Sept.13 & Oct.18) It's become quite the show. Great turnout, including Miller Motorcars. It's grown so much the town wanted to cancel it. (too much 'activity' in their business district?)

Nope. The ride height is pretty high and the front over hang short so this isn't an issue. There is a strong alum jacking plate in front.

That said the car is very fragile so I'm careful when I drive her.

Piper ran 0854 up to 305 km/h (189 mph) near Bloemfontein in 1968. At the time, it wore a green coupe body with extended nosework and race #5.

Brands Hatch (much discussed in this thread and the basis for the current paint scheme). I misunderstood and thought you were looking for the number nine in a different font than that used at Brands Hatch.

The 1968 event at Killarney in Cape Town, the car did indeed finish the race, it was a race long battle with Paul Hawkins in 0858 (then in Can Am form), Piper had a puncture 2 or three laps before the end. Pitted and re joined the race.

did some reading in a few books etc

Piper 'won' at Pietermaritzburg but organization declared Hawkins as the winner. He was relegated to 4th and then subsequently promoted to 3rd.
and for the 3 Hours of Killarney he finished 3rd
