Now that you have driven both a considerable amount of time, how much rigidity differences a la suspension can be discerned between the two configurations?

There is no discernible difference in rigidity. The main differences are much more vision and cooler cockpit in Spyder. In the rain the Spyder is fine so long as you keep moving the rain flows over the cockpit. I prefer the spyder but there is something almost womb/Zen like driving the coupe which is also pretty cool.

You have to keep in mind that there is a large difference between the P4 and P3 motors esp. the difference between the Webbers and the Mech. FI. The FI takes much more skill to drive through the towns than the Webbers but as I get used to it it's really quite enjoyable on the road. The P4 motor is much stronger.

You are a pretty tall guy, obviously the spider seems like it would be more comfortable, but how much headroom do you have in the Coupe? Does it give you enough room to wear a helmet for any occasional lapping?

That isn't a problem as the seat is VERY laid back.

Pedantic comment: You may pronounce it as you write it, but Weber is really written with one "b" only......With 2 "b's" we have a current F1 driver.....

Could someone clarify the difference between a P4 and a 412P? I've just discovered this thread and have enjoyed browsing through it.

Different Typo Motor. Lucas Mechanical F1 (P4) vs Webers (412P's) Two valve (412P) vs Three valve heads (P4). Different chassis. Different wheelbase.

0844 and 0848 were converted from P3's to 412P's by Ferrari.
    0846 was converted by Ferrari from a P3 to a P 3/4.
0850 and 0854 were built by Ferrari as 412P's
0856/0858/0860 were built by Ferrari as P4's.

    Paul,

They all went to The Left Coast for the Big Doings with his P4/5 unveiling.....

Maybe we'll see some posts from out there, but they are all doing the Pebble thing this weekend.

Tools have been laid down, for the moment....well, maybe a spark plug wrench or carb adjustment tool.....;)

Ahh yes, forgot about Pebble this weekend.
Thats what you get for living in the UK where nothing exciting ever goes on. If only they could move Pebble to Hyde Park or something similar...:)

Aw, c'mon.....you have the TWO Goodwood events and the Isle of Man TT! LOL!

And that occaisional F1 thing, when Bernie's in a good mood.....

Sad to say I've never attended the Historics, should probably plan the trip....no one lives forever.

Look for the gang to start a pic thread somewhere here soon from there.
Dr. Who left me here in Houston Tx. working as he left for the airport.

Jim G.'s last post was in the #0846 thread, I think he uses a nicer plane.....
