Does anyone know the definitive history of this car ? I see on the Classic Driver website this morning that Hexagon in London are advertising this car as one of 5 RHD PF coupes..... 5 ??? This is news to me as I understood that there were only 3 ........ It is also stated that the car is Classiche certified........ The car looks beautiful but....

1675GT was delivered new on the 13th February 1960 to Gianni Bertoni, co-owner of the world renowned machine company Berco who have been producing engineering equipment since the 1920’s. The car was supplied new by Bertoni e Cotti S.p.A of Milan, commissioned to be built in Grigio Conchiglia (16249) with Rosso (VM3171) hide interior as the car is presented today. The 250 PF Coupe has just completed a 100 point concours restoration by Modena finest Ferrari Specialisti di Restauro;Tappezzeria Luppi S.r.L;Carrozzeria Autosport S.r. ;Sport Auto ModenaIn conclusion of this fresh restoration, we present probably the finest example in existence!Accomping the car is its historical chassis file detailing ownership, mileage, original brochure/road test report and various important historical documents. This Ferrari model represents a remarkable balance of style, speed and usability. With its roofless, less practical siblings now reaching sale prices far into the millions, this ultra-rare example, which is no less mouthwateringly pretty for its enclosed cockpit, must surely be the very zenith of good value. The 250PF Coupe is possibly one of the most underpriced, two seat Ferrari 250 models available today and will surely enjoy a large premium price on current market value.

    This what Barchetta.cc say........

.. - Confiscated by Swedish Customs in Trelleborg loaded with drugs. Auctioned by officials.
    69/dec/31 - [MB 9018]
    73 - Jan Björkman [DUH 608]
    .. - Rolf Lundbom
    .. - Bert Eriksson
    .. - Sten Åke Strid
    80/mar/1 Rolf Frid, Spånga (restored)
    .. - Overhauled engine stolen
.. - Another engine bought from France and overhauled.

Does anyone know anything more ? Were there 5 RHD cars ??? If Barchetta info is correct how does the car get Classiche ???

I think I've heard some rumors that the car would have been an RHD, while in Sweden but the only picture I have is a side view, so it doesn't relly help. The layout of the engine compartment looks credible for a real mid-production RHD but the cam covers - AFAIK - were taken from a LHD-GTE. Other than that I have no idea what kind of engine it uses.

    Best wishes, Kare

I have the following nine PF Coupes listed as RHD from new:

    1081GT
    1083GT
    1251GT
    1437GT
    1675GT
    1677GT
    1725GT
    1973GT
    1975GT

I have not personally verified every car on this list, but PF records on 1675GT confirm that it was RHD ("guida destra"):

As for the engine in 1675GT, I can only say that the original engine was reportedly stolen in Stockholm, Sweden on May 19, 1991.

This is fascinating to me. I have obviously confused UK import with factory production. I would love to know where the remaining 6 cars were sold.

Thank you....... Love this site. Always learn something new ! Interestingly I have been offered 'RHD' PF's from Australia in the past but always guessed they were converted LHD as I know some were........

Now for the question re the engine ? IF....Barchetta is correct, how do the Classiche department give it certification....... New block ??? Or has the original engine suddenly materialised ?

The car can be certified with a non original but correct tipo engine.

with the value of the V12's, did the stolen motor ever surface and reunite with the car?, I could not tell from that link for sure.
