There is a 2008 red/tan 599 on ebay, ZFFFC60A180159037. It looks pretty nice and is priced very reasonably. Anyone know the car? Not sure I can make the move on it right now but I am thinking about a 599.

Classic example of a Ferrari with manipulated odometer. Better have hand written records from 2008-2013 showing documented mileage.

Not sure how you got that url but it leads to a shopping site. I pruned the extension (corrected above) and it works. It looks like it failed emissions in 2013 and has passed a few times since.

Yes, last reported mileage is 19,735 in 2015. The ad shows it at 22,860 so that makes sense. Not sure I see the odo manipulation that is referenced.

Looks like it would be worth looking at in person. Classic color combo, decent price point with milage.

I think think what he is talking about is the Car Fax:

    https://www.carfax.com/VehicleHistory/p/Report.cfx?vin=ZFFFC60A180159037&partner=VAS_0

If you look at it, the first owner just did a total of 1800 miles in 5.5 years. Also there is no servicing information at all in the entire lifespan of the car. Only Texas inspection station details. I have never seen that in any Carfax. So I suspect that is the basis of the suspicion.

However if there is a reasonable explanation for that then it is a great looking car at a great price.

I've noticed this with dozens of 599s in the United States, but not in Europe. In Europe the owners keep paper records documenting very well the mileage of the vehicles. In the US, these low mileage cars do not have any corresponding documents for service history to verify mileage.

When you're inside some of these cars you see the wear on the seats, the interior, the clutch worn down to 40% life remaining, even transmission control modules showing tens of thousands of miles on the gears ... and the dealers claim the car has between 3000-6000 miles on it.

    Buyers be warned.
