Thanks Erik, and thanks to everyone who has PM'd me. I have the information I was looking for. Mods you can delete this thread if you wish.
I'm reopening my little research project as some of the data I received is incomplete. Basically, I'm trying to determine which "non-USA" cars were equipped with the SAI (Secondary AIR Injection) system, and which were not. The SAI system is the pump, valves & piping which injects fresh air into the engine's exhaust manifolds for the first 30-45 seconds of a cold start to help the catalytic converters light off. You'll know if you have this pump as it makes a very loud noise like a faulty electrofan, or a Hoover vacuum cleaner. Here is an illustration from Ricambi, which shows the entire system: https://www.ricambiamerica.com/media/catalog/category/550_19.jpg If those of you who have non-US cars would be kind enough to reply with the following information, I would be very grateful: 1. What is the letter in the 8th digit of your VIN? 2. What are the last six digits of your VIN? 3. Does your car have the SAI system? Thanks in advance!
