Much discussed in recent times, Nero Metalizzato. The PPG sticker is always located on the underside of the front hood lid. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Apologies for unloading all this stuff here (its not 5% of what I have), but, its useless stored away, it might as well be shared, and perhaps we can all learn more about this variant that we have paid little attention to in the past. In 1989 at Motor Shows around the world, fans were agog seeing what the latest Countach looked like. I was there in London, a proud LP500QV DD owner, and if I am honest with myself, god how I wanted a 25th when they were new! The Portman 1989 Motor Show stand in London. That white 25th went to Steve F. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Steve Curtis, now eight-time offshore powerboat racing World Champion, a the wheel of his first 25th. Check out the 1988 hair! Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's a rare bird. One of our guys from the Middle East might have to give guidance here. I have heard (without confirmation) of prototypes & early production cars going to the Middle East. The car in this pic below is one of the prototypes Fuel-injected 25ths (note exhaust valance similar to the original Pagani illustration) and it ended up in the Middle East. The 25th for sale at Retrolegends has a curious headlamp finish which is claimed to be factory. Besides its unique exterior color, it has a blue dash top, steering wheel, shift knob and carpeting. The only other Countach I know of with similar headlamp treatment from the factory is the 1979 LP400S 1121058 of Sheldon Brooks, also a similar color (Rosso Granada). I have no idea whether the treatment was functional or purely style. Image Unavailable, Please Login

I agree that there was more effort and commitment for higher build standards and quality consistency for the 25th as compared to previous Countach cars. But I am not a fan of the design changes, the increased wieght and the added (useless) options of power windows and electric seats. The driver/passenger cabin max height with the 25th standard seats is back to the S1/S2 lowbody. A 6 foot or 6"1' driver will still fit nicely in a 5000S or quattrovalvole but will not in a 25th.
By no means do I want to convert this into a 25th bashing thread - The Countach is a great car, especially due to the various different editions. I am sure some think that the 25th suits their tastes best - as the Euro carbed '86 appeals to me the most (the ’85 having the non ZF transmission and the '87 came out with a different engine cover, a few interior mods and side skirts). Getting back in track, all of the 25ths I have seen (in Europe) have the front compartment in aluminum (as the 5000S while the earlier generation Euro QVs have the lighter kevlar front hood. Is this the case also for USA models?
Joe, I remember seeing pictures from one of the Sultan's garages in Brunei and I think he had/has a Countach with this similar headlight setup. Could this be one of his former cars? Best, John
Alex, I'm actually 6' 2". Ive had 3 LP400S S1 Lowbodys and hardly fit in each of them, but just about managed with some squirming in those fixed seats. In the 25th, IF the seat's electronics are functioning and you deploy the lower part all the way down, the 25th actually has MORE headroom than any other Countach. Alex, this is a fact. To say a 25th has less headroom is simply not correct. We can measure if you like. Are you sure the car you sat in had the seat deployed all the way down? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Chad, I understand your thoughts about this, but, having owned all the range, in the real driving world, the worst brakes are the LP400, and the best brakes are the 25th. Makes sense. How exactly this is done I will have my factory technician advise and we will re-visit this issue, rest assured. Regarding seats, I used to hate them too. Then I started spending more seat time in all the cars and I changed my mind. If you absolutely hate the 2-peice seats, the cars could be ordered with the sport seat as below. To be honest, I like all Countachs for what they offer. I am just not a "hater" of any one particular variant. The purpose of the thread is to highlight aspects of the 25th previously ignored, overlooked, or not discussed. There are many aspects of all the variants that I have no idea of and am still learning, as I so state. I remain open-minded. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I cant say for sure, but this car has been in Holland since the early 90s I think. The only special 25th I am aware of that was sent to the Far East is a silver RHD 25th, this car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The previous owner was told by the factory that the first 3 production cars went to the Middle East for a special client. This being the first production car. I have yet to substantiate that although with a Vin of 002 it makes sense.
ZA9C005A0KLA12820 which was first registered in Belgium in December 1989. It remained on belgian registration until 1993, on dutch registration since 1998.
Yes Joe thats correct. I was told Rosso Siviglia when the euro front bumper was installed. The PPG number given was 72775 and was labeld Rosso Swiglia, but again told it is PPG's direct cross reference to 21517. Another reference number PPG 2464022/215157 is written down next to it. With this thread peaking my interest, I may try to contact the previous owner (unannounced...any thoughts?) and see if he recalls some details. I do remember hearing Texas before. That may be where the car was originally purchased. The owner passed and the son inherited the car. At that time or shortly after the car wasn't running and was stored for years. It was then brought to a dealer, sorted out, and made road worthy, at which point I purchased it in 08. Thanks for checking Joe, I appreciate that!
