    I'm spending a week each in Holland/Denmark. Probably post up in Amsterdam and Copenhagen and do day trips from there. Any recommendations? Thanks.

    Visiting capitals means you will not experience or see an country. You will just see crowded places and other tourists. Try tot visit beautiful places like 'de Veluwe' and Friesland (both the Netherlands) fun to drive aswell.

    by train. last trip we rented a car and it was great we got off the path but we have three little ones and all the car sets, etc is a bit of the pain. my wife likes seeing the big cities and then we plan to do day trips out to smaller sites
