I had accidentally posted this in the other collectibles forum. I hope I don't get into trouble for the crossposting.

Anyhow..the books are in great shape. There is a small tear on the top left of the v8 book, but inside is mint. The V12 book is nice to, but shows signs of wear on the cover. I'm asking 400usd for the pair, or best offer.

Own both books but $300 for the pair seems fair.

Would you consider selling the books separately? I already have the V8 book. If so, what do you need for just the V12 version?

Im sorry Stan. I have had a change of heart,I'm going to hang on to these for the moment. I think I may have jumped the gun a little bit without doing proper research. It appears the version of the V12 book I have (softcover) is worth far more then I thought.

    I had no idea.

Don't think I have ever seen a softcover version of the V12 book. Interesting.

I thought it was the more common one to have..appartenly not. It seems some sellers are asking some crazy numbers for this book. I don't know what to do with it now..

It's okay, I am not sure of the value either. I have really enjoyed the V8 book and thought that the V12 version would make a good addition. Good luck whichever way you go.

There was a copy for sale in about the same condition as mine for 435 USD. There's also a brand new one for sale for over 1000. Both were soft covers also. I'm am astounded..

You got my interest going so I did a little research and found that the original book was called Ferrari V12 The definitive guide to front-engined road cars. In 2003 it was reprinted in both hardback and soft cover and was renamed Ferrari V12 the Restorers Guide similar to the V8 version. To your point the prices are all over the place, some very low and others very high.

I think I have both of those books packed away somewhere. I had no idea that they had that type of value assigned to them though.

Sorry to deliver less than positive news Tom. Regardless, it's a nice book to have! It looks like the originals are going for up to $500 USD on EBay.

My understanding is that the original first edition hard covered book is the one worth the most. Not the restorers version.

I have both books, and unless you have extra copies, I wouldn't sell either. While there are some small inaccuracies in both, generally they are excellent references. I read mine all of the time.

Interesting, I have both original hard covers. I didn't realize there was a second version of the V12 book.
