LOL, Bird... You in clothes...? Hmmm... That's a novel idea... Kenny, if she didn't accept, you would've definitely been next on my list, but it seems Mr. J6 himself is welcoming all who want to stop by... Good, 'cause choosing between you and the Bird would've gotten messy... i mirror Taek's comments, Mr. G., i, too, would love to own a copy once published... An autographed copy would be even cooler...
James, Amazing!!! I have to thank you for letting us all along for the ride on your restoration of the P4. This is certainly a historic event. Pat
Primer, bare metal, Rosso, still one of the best looking designs anywhere, of anything!! Nice metal work. Devil is in the details....
So basically, this is a new car... Who did the engine and interior restauration? Any dyno numbers for the engine? Do you intend to race the car? When do you think it will be ready and youare going to show it publically?
From your picture, the chassis seems awfully small / weak? Did you replace the tubing with higher grade steel (and therefore smaller section)?
This is the original chassis. (The repaired remains of 0846) The repairs are correct to original spec. Many of the welds are original. Every one has been inspected. As the water and oil flo through the chassis tubes it wasn't an easy task. The engine is original as well. It was rebuilt by Alberto Pedretti and Bob Wallace. It makes 450HP @ 8000 rpm's. The interior is original unrestored. The uprights were recently cast by Ferrari SPA. (I have the originals but am not sure they're still safe) John Haydak Jr. of MetalKraft fit the NOS coupe body to the original mid section. The trans is original P4 as is the rest of the car. The final assembly will begin after Greg of GS customs finishes painting , back in my shop by Sal Barone who is the person who's in overall charge of the restoration. I hope to have it finished for this coming spring. I'm going to drive it on the street.
James, What do you mean by "private shop" ? Cant wait to see it ! April is sooo far away !! Best Andrew
A friend and I have purchased a very small shop which we are going to use to maintain and restore our cars. Have you spoken to your Dad about his latest? Best
