Even though he is clearly a talented driver, I think that Kimi needs to call it a day. Its time we get a younger face around like Hamilton or Riccardo. He has made a few bad decisions that have cost us our standing. Did anyone see his face after he came second in Monaco, when Vettel won it for us? Is that the guy that Enzo would want as an ambassador for Scuderia Ferrari?

Kimi is still a great driver, and generally a safe pair of hands to bring back points for the Scuderia.
    I would keep him.

Evidently you don't keep up with Kimi, Scuderia Ferrari, or F1. Ferrari already resigned Kimi. Kimi was robbed a win at Monaco. Of course he was in poor spirits.

At $7.5m a year plus bonuses I'd say he's the worst deal ferrari has done for 2018.

Vettel doesn't think so, and that's all that matters to Ferrari right - Keeping Vettel happy!

This! Signing Kimi first was crucial to getting Vettel to sign on the dotted line for three more seasons.

Kimi gave up two wins this season to support the team and Vettel. How many teammates would do that?

It's time for Kimi to go. Will be very disappointed if they sign him past next year. LeClerc time.

What? You remember they basically gave the race to Vettel in Monaco right? Or am I thinking of another one on strategy. And sorry, But Kimi was fine in Singapore. He beat Max on the start, was passing in the rain and Vettel had to close the door from the other side with his start. Vettel could not see Kimi, and they do not have intercoms between drivers as far as I know. Max DID NOT USE HIS MIRRORS. He hit Kimi, threw him into Vettel, and it was called a racing incident because they all had to race for that corner. But Max was beat. He won't like it of course but he should have yielded to the faster cars. Like Prost turning into Senna in Japan, clearly before his usual turn it. Intentional in that case, by omission in this case.

His overall impact at Ferrari since coming back from being fired, rallying then Lotus has been nil. He was disposed of easily by FA and is never a threat to Vettel by design or in pace overall.

He is beyond inconsistent. His best days have been over for years. Sound bites are not much of a reputation when compared to how badly he has been beaten by team mates like FA. Look at those numbers then tell me why anyone thinks Kimi is that great. 2014 -151 pts for FA and 55 for Kimi. Thats after leaving Lotus where he won a race. So he wasnt out of F1 when he was back to Ferrari. He's just not that great at all. Hype meet reality. As a number 2 he is not reliable enough to be close to his team mate to ensure 1-2 finishes. Constant small errors in late qualifying etc etc.
    2014 12th
    2015 4th
    2016 6th
2017 5th currently = 6.75 overall position in the WDC. Sorry but overpaid, inconsistent and underperforming. So whos to blame? Ferrari. They refuse to hire a driver to push Vettel.

I dont really care about Vettel and happiness. Im not at all impressed with either one and certainly not Kimi in the overall. As Ive stated before he is about as good as Massa was in the red car. He's notable for being one to hate his duties out of the car. Worship of any driver is silly. Kimi more so given his LACK of results. He should have been let go after FA moved on. He is more than 'old news'.

^^^ At last, the voice of reason. Totally agree. Kimi is a waste and has been for far too long.

But Ferrari do, and its their opinion that counts, because it's they who make the decisions as to who drives for them, and not the fans.

You can hold all the polls you like, and post as many complaining comments as you like about Kimi, and it wont make one iota of difference to Ferrari! If they think Kimi is their best option, and it keeps Seb happy, then they will re-sign him - Just as they have for 2018.

Don't rate Seb either? - Ferrari couldn't give a rat's rectum about that either!

They´ll keep Kimi just until someone proven and affordable is available. Hence the single season contracts they´ve been offering him lately.

If Leclerc gets the job done at Sauber, I expect to see him driving for Ferrari in 2019.

Agreed. Not Ferrari's traditional way of doing things but might explain, to a degree, the one year for Kimi.
