Greetings New here. I'm looking for the #5 (?) 275 NART Spyder: Chassis #10249. This is the "Lamberson Car". Originally Red over black... It's somewhat important to me that I locate it. Please bear with me; I'm not a buyer, dealer, or anyone "to be avoided" I'm a 52 year old vintage racer hailing from Northern Illinois, looking for an old friend...and I'll be more than delighted to explain that "old friend" part once - and if - I locate the car and current owner(s) Can anyone help? Thanks I sincerely appreciate the time and assistance. Cheers Thom Kuby
I assume that you probably already know this info: http://www.barchetta.cc/english/All.Ferraris/Detail/10249.275GTB4.NART.htm
On my computer, there's but two short lines of detail: The first line refers to '67, when George actually bought the car, and the other referring to '90 and simply says "Lamberson's Widow" Is there more to this page??? Thank you, Sir Cheers Thom
I think that's all the info that is known to THEM. LWayne or one of the other more knowledgable historians HERE on THIS site probably know more. They always like a challenge.
I had come to the right place... Good - let's hope they rise to the occasion... How 'bout it folks? Any ideas? Cheers Thom
Bought new by Arnold Crane, Chicago, Il, from Chinetti. He traded in PF Cab 1967GT for it. Photo here... http://www.qv500.com/ferrari275p8.php T308
G. Lamberson had purchased this car from Crane - and it wasn't all that long after Crane's initial purchase... I first saw this car in George's hands, in the late summer-early fall of '67 (if memory serves me correct) Yes, I've seen this shot - any better ones out there? Thanks for the reply Cheers Thom
Last that I can recall, Georges widow still owned the car and would display it at some of the historic car and charity functions at the Oakbrook Mall in Illinois. George owned many other Ferraris and other unique cars, but this is the only one she kept.
I saw the car (I think it was this one given the number in Chicago) about 20 years ago at the Northbrook Gun Club. A friend, who is now in a nursing home, knew the owner. Perhaps you can try contacting the gun club for help.
