I am looking at this one too. Seems to be a decent deal for this car assuming one does not need to spend add'l for belt service. This is a bit more than I wanted to spend, but I would stretch for a 512TR.

Personally I really like the color. It will never sell like red, but it won't be as bad as green either. FYI, in order to post a link to something, you simply get the desired page or site up on your screen then go up in the address window of your browser with your curser and right click. Then hit "copy". Then go back to F-Chat (or wherever) and right click again where you want to "paste" the link.

White isn't normally the best "sale" color, but where white is bad is on cars with too much contrasting trim work. But this car in white really looks nice! This 512TR has been on ebay repeatedly for a long long time without selling. The price used to be in the eighties...$79.9 for a nice 512TR with no accident history is a GREAT deal. I've studied the pics and it appears to be a very nice car indeed. The price is very good if everything is up to date. I do remember somebody checking the mileage and finding a few descrepancies through out it's history...but the error was only 1k or 2k miles. And I do think somebody actually checked the car out in person and reported it was very nice, very clean. If there are no red flags it's a very good deal. Regular Testarossas in absolute tip top shape are close to the $70k range, to this car is a bargain pending any surprises.

I have seen this car and test driven it.
It is in poor condition and the books and records are suspect. There were at least 3-4 owners.
I personally would not buy this car. The white is a nice color.
If you need more info PM me.

That car has been for sale there for almost 1 year. Adam, Silver1998GTS from this board was looking at the car this early spring. I think that they have offered it to him for around $70k. He did not purchase the car but the dealer is trying hard to get rid of it. Questionable history. However, offer $65k cash, give it a major and enjoy it as a daily driver, not a garage queen.

Solid rear frame instead of a drop out like the standard TR. The engine has to come out the top for service.
    More rigidity throughout the frame.
    Better suspension geometery.
    More horse power, about 30?.
Electronic fuel injection instead of the Bosch CIS that has been in use for 30 years.
    Nice wheels.
    Redesigned interior.
New nose which was fairly copied for the 355.
    Rear hatch is redesigned.
    Rear valance is changed.
    Better A/C?

    Just to name a few.........................................

Am I mistaken that they changed the clutch from dual to single disc?

    Chime in any time guys.

If it isn't beat too bad it would be a reasonable way to get into a 512 TR.

I know of another that was on the market for 70k briefly.
Red/Tan, nearly perfect cosmetics, transaxle rebuilt to -M specs. So what was the hook? It had 70k miles on it.

I would have bought it in a heart beat if I could have. Knowing how meticulous the owner is and with the newer transaxle this car would have many many more miles to go.

I might even call him this spring just to see if he'll go for it. He is still driving it around on a regular basis. It runs looks great.
