    Salvage title issued in 2001 according to carfax. However I do have a question about 512trs. I've been in the market for a while now, looking for the right 512 and have come across some that have the engine cover section towards the rear window painted black reguardless of exterior color, and some that are painted to match the color of the car. Was that something that was a mid production(1992) change from Ferrari or are owners just painting them to match?

    Thanks for the info, I was figuring something like that.

    Yes, it was from factory to have that portion painted black, many owners had them repainted to match. The M had it body colored. I am not sure if there were factory body colored examples.
