The new F1 season is upon us and we're all excited about it. But please: Don't give away results in the thread titles. This morning I merged 3 threads related to qualifying in Bahrain into one. I hate to do that because it kinda kills off the individual threads, but they were all related to the same event/story and had spoilers in their titles. A fourth thread I left alone, but edited the title. So: 1. Before starting a new thread, check whether there is already an existing one. 2. If your thread is about a current race, use a neutral title and add "SPOILER WARNING" to the title. 3. If somebody finds a thread giving away results, notify the racing mods.
Just wanted to bump this up as I didnt get to see Imola and am waiting for Speeds rebroadcast this Sunday. Avoiding all newscasts, papers etc. I'm taking a risk even pulling up the "racing" threads. Returning to my cave now.
I was once on a vacation in Europe and I couldn't watch the one GP during that time, so I programmed my VCR at home. I remember walking through Helsinki on the Monday after the race trying so hard to avoid any headlines at the local newspaper stands. It was not easy, but I managed. No news, no TV, no internet for two weeks. Came home, rewound the tape and watched it as if it were live.
I believe that keeping it out of the title for a day after the race is fair. After that it should be open game. If one is worried about the racing threads then don't log in to Fchat period. A guy posted a thread about Renault costing Alonso the win - I believe it is Ok to do so now 1 day after the race has finished. I am not sure if y'all agree
I believe it was. Not by me as I haven't actually seen it. Although it might seem that way I'm not 24x7 on FChat. But trust me, when I see a spoiler in a title, I will change it. Or merge the thread if there is an existing one.
Good job all around. PS; just saw Imola. Now going to the disscusion area but will probably be like the guy who shows up 30 minutes after the party ends.
I've learned my lesson. I dont read F-chat if I havent seen the race. Even the title in this thread is enough to give it away. Dont click if you havent seen Silverstone. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=109582 Let's just be carefull. Thanks.
I'll clean up the mess. Imperial got banned (by another mod) for spamming several threads without spoilers and thereby giving away the results of a race that most of us probably taped. Giving away race results is a severe breach of rules and can end in a ban.
Its starting again ! Hate to say this but I am going to have to stay away from Ferrarichat until I've seen each race.
