    355 weighs in at 1360kg. 380HP. :)
    355CH weighs in at 1320kg. 380HP. :)

355CH comes with 'challenge' grill, bigger brakes, rear wing, roll cage, magnesium 'challenge' wheels, clutch pumpkin cooler, rear diffuser.
Thats all I can think of at the moment. I forget if gearbox gear ratios are the same or not. :) There are a few experts on here that will chime in and add more or less. :D:D

In the US, CH are not street legal without conversion. They were not intended as street cars. The obvious is that they are completely stripped of creature comforts and luxo GT items. No A/C, stereo, interior panels. Seats are CF shells. You won't find any leather (hmm, maybe on the dash, now that I think about it). They have a different engine management system, so my guess is that Hp is different from stock too. At the very least the curves are different. Don't think they have cats either.

I thought they had a different exhaust too. Or is it just no cats?

    Add:

C/F race seat, harness, different shocks, springs, sway bar & suspension bushes, re-inforced cross member, exhaust.

To get the weight to the minimum you could delete soundproofing, carpet, a/c from the standard car.
    ( Most 355Ch are a conversion of a 355 using the Challenge kit )

When the Challenge is completely stripped down for track it is about 400lbs lighter than a street 355

Where can you buy the 355 challenge kits? How can you tell if a car is an original factory challenge or one with a kit?

I believe there is mean to be some type of badge with a serial number on it. Example "1 of 100".

Challenge kit used to be available from Ferrari - I don't think there are any left - remember this was something in demand 10 - 12 years ago.

By the history of the car - must be a Europe or Swiss market car for a start, I believe all other markets if you ordered a "Challenge" you received a car & a kit ( not installed).

Easiset way to get one - buy a complete Challenge car, rather than try to find a kit ( or the pieces ) to convert a 355. There are usually some for sale.

    Regards
    Michael

Cheers Guys, great help and advice. I am looking at buying a 355 challenge at the moment, It's a 97 car and I think it has been converted with the kit. I am still doing more homework on the car. Also looking at a 95 355, still confused on the 2.7/5.2 issue and the faulty cylinder liners reported on the 95's.

I currently own a 308 glass dry sump car that I have been using as a track and tarmac rally car. Looking forward to the increase in HP with the 355.

Any advice on the best exhaust sytem for the 355? (best for performance not sound)
