Is there a big difference in the TUBI VS the stock exhaust on a 430? I know there is on a 360 because the stock exhaust sounds terrible. It seems the stock 430 sounds pretty good. Is it worth the extra $$$ for the 430 TUBI? Also, I think I heard there was some problems with the TUBI 430 with fires? Did anyone else hear that. Thank you in advance for your reponse.

Bear in mind that with the 430 the muffler is bypassed at moderate to high throttle openings, so the only difference will be at idle and low throttle. I'm very happy with the stock 430 system and don't have any incentive to change, especially with the new attitude FNA has to aftermarket parts.

How are you Greg, Our old black 360 Tubi exhaust was a fairly loud one as even stated by FoNE due to the fact it was about 7 years old and had broken in so much. I have heard from other 430 owners that the 430 Stock exhaust is a beautiful sound compared to the stock 360. If it was me, I would keep the stock. You also have the choice of just going with the tailpipes (tips) on the 430 an option the 360 didn't have.I found this out from FoNE because I just ordered a Tubi for my 360.

The stock 430 exhaust is sweet and I wouldn't put a tubi on.On the other hand I put a tubi on my 360 and a tubi and stebro pipes on my 575 since the stock exhausts were dull.

As Gary indicated the exhaust system on a 430 is different from a 360. It's a bypass system where the exahust literally bypasses the muffler can under throttle. Not sure why anyone would want to change the stock exhaust on a 430 since it's awesome sounding from idle onwards with the vacuum hoses unplugged. The only way to really improve (make louder) the sound is to use bypass pipes in place of the cats.

Unplugging the vacuum hoses will answer your question one way or another. I did it and although different from my old 360 with Tubi, it is about a good as it gets. Loud, but good. Best

Changing the exhaust on a F430 changes the "tone" of the exhaust not, unplugging the valves only makes it louder.
We have done several systems, now and IMHO the best sound comes with hi flow cats and a capristo or Tubi muffler. smooth deep sound with out the annoying on/off rasp of the valve system.

Well, it may change the "tone" at part throttle and idle, but it cannot affect the sound once the muffler is bypassed - right?

On the contrary. The Capristo and Tubi can eliminate the valve system altogether making the tone more consistant. The sound always runs through the muffler.

Do you have an example (comparison). I like the sound of my 430, but other than the 360 have not had a side by side comparision. Are you in California. Best

I understand the "more consistent" part, but if the muffler is bypassed when the valves open (or are eliminated) the last sentence of your post ("the sound always runs through the muffler") is not correct. Anyone know for sure? I was always told the muffler was bypassed entirely when the valve opened.

The 360 also uses a bypass valve that opens up at higher rpm/throttle position. However, the stock 430 muffler is a "race" muffler whereas the 360 muffler is more of a standard/street muffler. Consequently, the 430 stock exhaust (which appears to be very similar to the muffler fitted to the Challenge Stradale) sounds better at all rpm ranges at all throttle positions than the stock 360 muffler.

I appreciate the link offered by Ferrari-Tech - thanks. As for me, with valves by passed, I enjoy the 430 sound as much as what I heard. However, I would trade them both for the sound my 360 Tubi exhaust made travelling narrow roads with sound bouncing off and long tunnels (hard to beat imo). Best

    Steve,

I installed a Tubi exhaust on my 360 and '05 430...absolutely loved the sound. I have a used Tubi that was taken off of the '05 F430 with ~ 2k miles of use. The new owner wanted the stock exhaust installed.

I'm installing the GTC Tubi on my '07 F430.

Let me know if you are interested in the used Tubi.

From what I heard, FNA is getting pretty strict about mods vs. the warranty on cars.

To be safe, I would consider bypassing using the existing valves and/or vaccum hoses, but not changing the exhaust.

BTW, does anyone have pictures and instructions to do the vaccum hose/valve mod???

    francislaw,

dude, just be reminded that the GTC tail end snaps easily due to the poor welding. Besides that, the sound is superbly astonishing... Loud to be more precise as I wake the whole neighbourhood up just by firing it up.

    Cheers!
