Nope, I have a secret resource; My dad has been an FCA member since about 62. He recalled seeing Sgr. Manicardi speak on behalf of the factory at an FCA meeting in the northeast sometime in 67. He also recognized Chiron.

 

Angola was a portuguese colony back in the sixties,was portuguese territory.

 

Is this the explanation for the mere existence of an Angola GP? The European influence or rather control? I mean, I couldn't imagine a serious race held in one of these countries today, their governments have bigger sorrows than being host for motorsport events...

This picture was taken at Le Mans 1963. If the two pilots are easily recognisable, maybe somebody could identify the Ferrari mechanic and the man with the hat. Car is TR #0808 entered by the N.A.R.T. Pilots of the car were Pedro RODRIGUEZ and Roger PENSKE.

The mechanic in the middle of Phil Hill and Pedro Rodriguez is Alberto Pedretti. Alberto is originally from Modena and was the former owner of Wide World of Cars in Spring Valley, NY. He has since retired and lives in Scottsdale,AZ and has been seen on occasion at Bob Wallace's shop.

Thanks David for the name of the mechanic... Alberto PEDRETTI. I saw another photo of him with his name, maybe in a Cavallino magazine, but can't remenber wich one.
Here is another photo, still in Le Mans. The great French pilot Jean BEHRA is seen during practice in 1959. The TR59 should be #0774TR.

Moreover, less difficult to roll and easier to operate.
