    Morten,

The wheels for sale that are on that Lancia are perfect. I congratulate you on your endeavour and I know that you will wind up with one awesome car. The thing is I don't know why you just don't take that glass car and sell it or hell just keep it and start with a car like this. Why not start with a car like this:

Thanks Parker. I love these wheels too, they are so right for the period of rallying in the eighties.

Concerning your proposed donor, cheap yes, and if I was considering Stock Car Racing instead, then I might have taken it, fitting in a Volvo Amazon engine and some new diagonal types :)

Right, when I then would have to go to the local Ferrari pusher and purchase all the missing rubber lists, windows, rear lights, electronics, dashboard, instruments etc. etc.... the bill will far exceed the price of a factory new car.

I think it might be that people are just kind of sad that you are going to cut a glass car. I think the project is great and after seeing the wheels, I can see that it can be done but isn't there a beat up steel car out there to use as the specimen? Either way you are going to turn out with a nice car but glass 308s are sort of treasured... Personaly, I would drive and save and fix up that glass car it will be a $100K car someday soon and look for a junker steel bodied car... It's your call.

Just back from a nice weekend in southern France, actually looking at the Rallye du Var which was the final round of the European Historic Championship. Got a lot inspiration, despite looking at far too many Porsche 911's. My project will definitely create some variance to the German inspired list of participating cars :)

Your project looks great iam biulding a copy of the 1984 group B Valentino 308 gtb mine is now painted and has its decals on and just needs assembling, the one part iam having trouble with is the single wiinscreen wiper, any ideas, are you keeping rubber engine mounts or are you going solid ,i had two sets made so have a spare set if you want them

Great to know that I am not alone :) please post pictures...

My experience from earlier rallycar projects, is that the engine/gearbox mountings have to be rubber, however pretty strong/hard rubber. A solid mounting would cause far too much problems with vibrations and resonances, as well as parts breaking apart.

If you have additional (hard) rubber mountings, then I am interested - let's chat about that via PM.

By the way, why are you creating a group B replica - for track use or ?

Concerning the single viper issue - yes, I am aware of that, but have not yet thought about how to solve it - any ideas from your side ?
