I noticed that for the first time, in like, forever the lower value of the 330GTC in Cavallino's value guide has a DOWN arrow. It seems to me that Cavallino is pretty conservative and the market has to make a fairly decisive move before they will put either an "UP" or "DOWN" arrow. I do not get FML anymore and I suspect it has better and more current data on market conditions. BTW, a bit of easing of 330GTC prices would sure fit in MY long term plans! Comments?
Two thoughts: First, over 11,000 posts is a lot. A whole lot. Second, don't expect prices to drop any time soon. When I bought my 330 four years ago, I paid in dollars and now it's "worth" twice as much in dollars. But had I paid in Euros, or in gold, it would be "worth" about the same in Euros, or in gold. I'd say factor in the devaluing dollar first, and then see if there really is any bubble to burst. Matt
They dropped the lower end of the range by $5k but kept the upper range the same at $300k. Looks more like refining the range rather than a softening as the upper side didn't change.
Doc, if only you knew how these two publications arrive at their figures! For a little clarification, check out this article: http://www.ferrarichat.com/velostrada/issues/200507/05Ausbrooks-Market_Guide.htm
330GTC's seem to be holding up well in Europe - dealers have stock from UK to Spain circa 150k. Its the Lusso which has "run out of steam" and now seems to be on a shallow fall.......
it's been awhile since I took macroeconomics, but wouldn't that result in a perfectly elastic supply curve?? One dollar or one billion dollars, you still can't buy it. . . .
It would and as the particular model I alluded to was never sold by Ferrari to anyone Cavallino's price quote is even sillier. I brought this to their attention but as they don't acknowledge any thing I tell them what can you do?
*Napolis ringing phone at the Barnes residence...no answer* Nah, 11K posts is nothing! LOL! I think we are seeing the sinking dollar in the world markets as well, it'll take more of them (dollars) to get them BACK from overseas, where they have all gone, that's why there's none on the market.... Actually that's not true, Houston Driver's Source has a nice blue one, I TOLD you about it, Euro, when I saw it over at Franco's last Party!!
Dr. Uro, you've said in other posts that you have $125K, more-or-less, to spend. Forget an anywhere-near-decent GTC for that $$, anytime soon...or ever. Good 330 2+2's and Boxers in that range...quit dreaming, be here now, and go for it. I wanted to upgrade to a 330 Interim or Series II to replace my crunched Series I, but lost agreed-value coverage with the wreck. Hagerty will take me back in Oct. '09...maybe I'll look for another 12 then. But, I'm having a blast with the 308 GTS QV, and 25 grand left over from the 330 insurance settlement...maybe won't.
When did I say that? Must have been a while back. Actually since I bought the Dave M's Dino in January I have nothing to spend. But, as soon as I sell a piece of dirt next to the hospital, I should have ~$200k (after taxes; listed for $270k, I'd take $240k, tax basis $120) with 330GTC written all over it. It's just the problem of selling that dirt.
I would think if you spread a rumor that you might sell to a competitor... the hospital would buy it up fairly quick .
Put up a big sign, "Prime office space land...build to suit. Perfect for legal offices/malpractice suite" I would say the hospital would buy it within 15 minutes...
Sorry...wasn't aware of your Dino purchase...have fun! You mentioned the $125K a few months ago. It sounds like you'll get your GTC after all...hope you do. Dirt and bricks do move slowly these days. I've had a nice house up for sale 3 months now, fairly priced...so far, no takers. Very frustrating.

Well, you can't make a cemetary out of it, al least in Texas. There is some law that says cemeteries and hospitals can't be located next to each another.
Don't mean to rub salt in an old would, but you coulda been a contender. This car that you pasted on three years ago goes on the block at Keels and Wheels the first weekend in May. If the link doesn't work well, go to the bottom of page five. http://www.wwgauctions.com/houston2008.cfm?page=5&pagend=10 Dale PS I think they accept phone bidders. PPS They got the wheelbase wrong.
