I've got these tires on ebay item number: 220225390888, and people are trying to make a deal before the auction ends. What are they worth? I know they don't make them anymore, but I wish I knew what they were bringing on the market before I let the auction run out.

$1500 a tire. Wouldn't let them go for anything less. They don't make them anymore, so good luck finding them.

They're not worth a whole lot. The original tires (what you're selling) with the sand lip are basically useless on the roads. Basically only good as spares, but not a full time replacement for the (better for the road) newer Pirellis. I turned down someone trying to sell 3 new tires and one old tire for $2k. Just my .02.

Sorry, but I disagree with you. I put about 20,000 miles on an LM using the original-type tires with the lip. They were very good tires with enormous grip. The truck would corner like a sports car! (almost). They are also run-flat tires, and not many people know that about the originals..... it is part of the military heritage. You can run them without any air pressure, and the sand lip rests on the ground. You can drive many miles, at reduced speed, that way, which was probably important for the potential military applications. The newer non-sand lip Pirellis just go flat and squish down until the rim is on the road and you ar done. The only way I could fault the original tires is that they wore out fast, but that is a result of the sticky compound.....a trade off that we still have today.....(grip versus longivity), and that they have a tendency to tram line (change direction along longitudinal grooves in the road). Otherwise, they were great tires. Anyway, the market has spoken, and they sold for $910 each on ebay.

Oh, can you tell me who wanted to sell 3 new tires and a old one for $2K? I'll buy them and resell them with the next-highest bidder and split the profit with you. You can pm me with that information if you are interested in making a little $ on some crappy old/new tires!

You should be careful ripping into people that are just answering the question you ask. If you knew so much you shouldnt have ask. Your response to your post isnt the best way to make friends on Lambo/Ferrarichat.....maybe thats not what you wanted....maybe you just wanted to ask questions that you already knew the answer to.....anyway welcome to Lamborghinichat!

PS...you might want to fill out your profile so people will take you seriously....just my 2 cents :)

Well, you can ask the three LM owners that I know of (one of them is me) whose sand lip tires exploded on them and potentially could've caused some very serious damages. But what do I know, you sold the tires on ebay so you must be right. I paid what your buyer paid for brand new (updated) tires for my LM (with the original stickers still on them). Now...if you were the buyer and not the seller, which would you buy for the same money?

That's a good point. I had 2 blow out on me at speed during a Bullrun. The 3rd was getting ready to go.

The problem with these tires is that that they are to old to use. The componds in the tire break down after 5/6 years and are not safe to use anymore. That is why I took off my 20 year old tires and replaced them with super swampers.

Agreed. Ferrari doesn't even recommend I try and source OEM tires for my 4 yr. old car, they'd prefer I seek a newer replacement. How do you think Lamborghini would feel about you using 20yr. old tires that were never intended for long term use on paved roads in the first place?

if they were new ones may be...
but nobody would pay THAT much for 20 years old and used tyres imo

still hard to tell a value but since they went for 900 $ each i'd say this is the market for these

OK, I'm sorry for my curt response. I think you guys are right. They were great tires twenty years ago, but now they are so old that is probably why they have been blowing out and they are unsafe now. I don't think the updated tires are available either, though, so I don't think one can get any new Pirellis that fit anymore?

US$18,700...…..Just ridiculous. Effe that dealer. But you maybe be stuck as I think Lamborghini dealers are the only sellers. If that is the case, keep shopping! There are dealer sponsors and sponsors in general here that might be able to help.
I thought they were about US$2000 each which is still stupid. They are just tires from an old mould. There is such a thing as a reasonable cost for a very limited production tire.
Worst case, use something else and drive the sheet out of them like I do.

A contact at Pirelli USA was familiar with that situation. Pirelli has a contract to sell all of those to Lamborghini.

We have a better chance of getting Coker or BFG to remake the LT345/55/17

  24. I have a set of five new tires (bought them 3 years ago through a Lamborhini dealer). As I sold one of my LM's recently I don't really need them anymore. I sell them for USD 10'000 plus shipping.

If interested please send a pm.

I still have a set of 5 stashed away as well, the close to 20K dealer price is surely ridiculous.
BTW There's only the occasional production run and lucky enough I was able to get my hands on 10 pcs.
