Looking for a Challenge Grill DIY?

Many people on F Chat have installed these themselves. So just wait, hopefully they will come out of the woodwork and give you some tips. I can help you get the challenge grill if you don't already have one.

After you start playing with that for a while you will understand why it's called a "challenge" grille!!!

That was offered by Tubi and a few others.

I think it looks awful on a 360. I have seen one up close and it did not look good, IMHO.

Fitting the challange grill is a very easy process. Remove standard panel (remembering to disconnect rear lights), swap over lights, fit new grill. I dont recall any difficulties. Takes less than an hour.

 

Make sure you get a roll of 2" blue painter's tape and apply over the top of the rear bumper to amke sure you do not scratch it when removing old panel and replacing the new grille!

Make sure to put the painters tape down as has previously been mentioned!! The only real issue I had was the alignment of the hood latch after install.

Can't say for sure but would make sense to be slightly lighter.

No you are not wrong but the CS grille is about $1,800.00.

 

I have personally always sold the regular version not the Stradale version. It is cheaper and looks great.

 

It it's painted it is not new and you can't be sure of the condition.

If you have photographic evidence of good condition, for $80.00 you can have it powder coated black, and you'll have a deal.

I think $1K for a used grille is a bit high though.

 

That price is not very good unless you want it to be Red, IMO the cool thing about the challenge grill is the contrast in black. We sell the grill for $1475.00 brand new. Also keep in mind these grills are a bit fragile and they can be bent and you would not be able to tell by looking at it in pictures if its slightly damaged.

Wow I wish I had a place powder coated that cheap. It takes a lot of work to strip down a grill like that to bare metal and powdercoating it. My guy would have probably charged hundreds of dollars to do a grill like that and he would probably damage it in prepping.
