Thanks for the pics, Tom. I love the mags on the 275 and the nerf bar it must have for the add'l lights on the nose.

i disagree in this context, "Victory" is displayed with the hand out and the fingers stiff. with the hand curled and the fingers relaxed, its an obscene gesture i was told, related to the female anatomy. (think fingers in a bowling ball.....)

so sorry to go off topic. i thought it was odd that these folks from a similar time as the Mcqueen pic would display the gesture, perhaps it was an inside joke among the racers and crews.

    thanks.

    agreed!

Ecurie Francorchamps. I will enter the guess of Reims 1965, either 5843 or 6313.
    Best,

    Too late!
Interesting #1 : 0790 with Chiti, Marchetti (cap), Vecchi, Tavoni. Tests at Monza early 1961 ?

The first pic shows the shipment of the 250 GT Cabrio PF S2 intented to the son of king of Morocco Mohammed V. So, could be s/n 1797GT...

    BTW : we can see a silver 275 GTB registered "4232 W 75" (not 100 % sure) on the 250 LM's pic...

Agree the Dino SP pic should be 1961 Monza testing...

I think it's 1962, as the Sharknose has the 120deg engine with the carb trumpets well apart - they were using the 65deg engines at the beginning of 1961.

The other single-seater is interesting- Von Trips driving and Phil Hill pushing? I wonder why they were filming it. Modena in the winter..............

Wolfgang Seidel (who was a tall guy), with mechanics Dino Pignatti, Ener Vechhi and Pio Neri. I think Willy Mairesse is behind the wheel.

Can anyone explain where the #18 would come from in the April trials if it bore #25 in the June race? Was this a provisional number, or?... Thanks in advance.

    Best,

Again, it's 1961 and NOT 1962 !!! On other pics, same chassis can be seen with the 1961 Dino SP !!
