Did anyone else here participate in the parade lap of Ferraris at the Stardust Grand Prix in Las Vegas when this car raced there? I was there with a Lusso that had been hit by a drunk driver--my father had borrowed the car for the evening--and participated in the parade lap in spite of a caved-in front fender.

The 8th New Zealand Grand Prix was held at Ardmore on Januari 7th, 1961 (my date of birth!!!). At that race 4 Ferrari's were present:

Pat Hoare - Dino 256F1 chassis 007 (Phil Hills Italian GP winner) finishing 7th
Frank Shuter - chassis 0712 (ex Pat Hoare) finishing 11th
Bob Smith - 555 Supersqualo (DNQ)
    Bill Tomasen - chassis 0514 M (DNQ)

    #19 is Pat Hoare in 007 / 256F1.
#15 is 0712, but probably also with Pat Hoare who raced this car at the 7th New Zealand GP in 1960.

I was at the 66 24H of Daytona, and that pic for sure wasn't taken there...

There weren't any trees or fences overgrown with vegetation in the infield, nor are there any corners that tight there... If the backgound would have been a fence with people and cars parked along the fence I'd have believed it, but not that shot...

Also what was the "diaper" hanging over the back of the car for, does anybody know?

I recall one of the Chaprral's had a canvas "trunk" of sorts one year, (I think 67), but it had to have the shape that accomodated the FIA "suitcase". I just don't recall seeing a flat "bag" on the back like is shown here on other LM's. Where did the suitcase normally go on an LM?

    Hi !

Ferrari 250 LM #5843 raced during the 1966 24 hours of Daytona under the Ecurie Francorchamps banner by Beurlys had race number nr. 26.

A couple of weeks after, he was to be seen at the wheel of this very car during the Zolder Grand National where he eventually won. Race number was 102.

Since I'm living quite close to Zolder, I can tell this is the typical landscape of this region.

Looking forward learning more from you guys !
