Perhaps it ran in 1953 with Umberto Masetti.

No, in 1953 at the Giro di Sicilia Umberto Masetti and co-driver Azelio Cappi ran a 250 MM Spider Vignale #0288 M.

The car looks like #012 I to me.

It seems to see the Alfa logo on the bonnet.
And, the body was remade by Scaglietti?

This Ferrari, rebodied by ?, raced in Sicily in 1955-Giro di Sicilia- the driver was Matrullo.
Numberplate: Roma 216150 or Roma 216158.
About the body, it seems similar to the Sterzi's car.
In my opinion, the chassis 0121 is out of discussion.

 

Then, I think that an Alfa Romeo 1900 Ti engine was put under the bonnet....

 

It has to be 012 I. The car started life as a 166 SC Ansaloni and in January/February 1950 was rebodied for Marzotto by Carrozzeria Paolo Fontana in Padova similar to a "Touring Barchetta".

I don't know the driver and I'd like to know the true story of this car, expecially the last part of its sport life.

 

Mentioned on entry list or in the results too? The car may have been heavily modified in later life so an Alfa Romeo engine might easily fit in. Best wishes, Kare

Matrullo had a body shop at Naples. Probably, he put on this car an Alfa Romeo 1900 Ti engine and rebodied the original as a coupé.

 

Some good news about this mistery car.
Here enclosed you will find a photo of the car. Yes, it's right, it is the 0121 chassis.
The photo is about Giro delle Calabrie, and you can see the same numberplate, pertinent to Marzotto brothers.
It seems painted in silver but later, when it was bought by Matrullo, the body will have another colour.
So, we have a little hole...What's happened after 1952?
Yes, it's a little but very interesting mistery!

Which year and with which driver?
The registration 18132-VI is indeed the Marzotto one from 1950.
Unfortunately the photo from the 1st posting is not loading, Umberto, can you please post it again?

I refer to the other - older - thread, where Ed posted:

"In1976 I partnered with Bill to import from Willy Felber in CH a very early "barchetta", alleged to be 09C. When the car arrived, we searched but could not find a chassis no. The very early engine had been restamped to 116. The diff was stamped 018. The entire front of the frame had been changed to coils and tube shocks. The only correct looking instrument was the Jaeger tach. The body was a rough approximation of a Touring barchetta, with rivets all along the body-side ridges. This was apparently the car that David Seielstad describes as 012I."

The engine then was a 166 2 litre F2 engine, neither the original 166 SC one nor the later 195. This is not only confirmed by the number, but also by the layout of the engine. AFAIK the engine nowadays is not anymore with the car. Unfortunately I've never seen the photos of the car when found, but my knowledge is that it still had the Fontana barchetta body then, which is also confirmed by Ed in the above quoted posting. This body is still with the car today (under slow and - in the meantime - careful and professional restoration).

#116 was one of the 2 F2 cars sold by Ferrari to Scuderia Marzotto in mid 1951. There are signs that this car in 1953/54 was converted to new F1 with a tipo 195 engine, probably the car entered for Carlo Mancini at the GP Roma 1954. If at that time both cars - 012I and 166 - had still been owned by the Marzottos this rumour would make sense. 116 was upgraded to new F1, and 012I was converted to a 2 litre class winner by swapping the engines.

But in such a picture neither the coupe body nor the Alfa Romeo engine fit...
