    I made the same mistake, the thin silver shaft which looks deceptively like an open driveshaft is in fact only the support stay. The black painted torque tube sits above, unseen in this photo.

    This car is hugely impressive in the attention to detail.

    of course the international value of a 348 is about US$30K.

    A 275/4 can be had for $900K in the US, so that's 30 x 348's.

    not at all, both cars are cheaper in the US.

    values here are inflated by tax (import duties, LCT, etc) not by the real value of the car, which is more correctly measured by auction results in the US & UK, not by dealer asking prices here or anywhere for that matter.

    Getting back on topic...

    When I first started going on club runs in the early 80's, David "golly gosh" had a Ghibli and the car was stunning to look at. It was very suited to the open roads down around Glen Innes. :)
