Joker? I thought this was one of the coolest challenge cars last year.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is anyone from the Bay Area, Sacramento area going to be going to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for the event? I started a thread - http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=315837 - but not much response. I know it may be farther to go, but it's Laguna Seca. If not, I have something that may get you to go. Owners and non-owners - PM me and I will discuss it with you.
Is this a change? In the past they have had 2-3 'spirited' parade laps for Ferrari owners without the normal track day stuff (helmets/point by passing/etc...). Will there be a typical track day session as well this year? Thanks Mike
Yes. It's a change. They have added the sport session. There will still be a separate "touring" session with a pace car and no helmets.
Awesome. Hope they have the same thing at Laguna Seca, which is where I plan on attending. How do you register for the sport session? Is it part of the VIP admission? Thanks Mike
I just bought a ticket for May 1st event. I am really looking forward to this. The soundtrack coming off those cars will be amazing! I cant wait. I am not to sure if I am really going to hit the laps to hard though. I have crapy tires on the car right now and its doubtful that the Pirelli Pzero Corsa System's that I ordered will be here in time. We shall see~ Nate, and Dave see you there! Caravan?????
Absolutely. We need to pick a local spot to meet and should arrive at infineon at 8:53 am. Things kick off at 9:00.
Guys, let me know what time you're heading out - I'm likely coming along. Is there still room in the Sport (helmets required) group on May 1st? Orrie
What about that Peet's Coffee in Roseville/Rocklin by Nugget Market? Its where' all the Euro$unday event used to be held at. I am in Auburn going west anyhow, anywhere off the hwy works for me. But coffee at that early hour always helps! Cant wait~
Sounds good to me. It takes about 1:40 to get there so we should depart by ~7:20. Let's meet at the Peet's at Nugget Market on Park Dr. in Roseville/Rocklin at ~7:00 for coffee. Anyone coming from the Hwy 80 side of town is welcome to join. Orrie, if its more convenient for you we could pick you up along the way... say West Sac or Davis...you have a preference?
There's a Chevron, just off I-80, that another group I drive with meets at. It's at 4800 West Capitol, West Sac. I can wait for you guys there, and there's easy re-access to the freeway from there. Thank you for thinking of me! I'll be there at 7:30, and wait for you there. If it's more convenient, I can wait on the freeway on-ramp, and just hop in as you guys pass by. That's fine, too! Orrie
Great event, look forward to it every year. The two "parade laps" alone are well worth the price of admission & the catered lunch is excellent. I'll be attending in a white "F-1" sounding Testarossa. Look forward to meeting up with fellow attendeez......Mark
Anyone know the protocols for parking in the paddock area? Used to be only Ferraris then exotics then ‘unusual’ cars to include Tesla, Old Jags MB etc. Have a friend, former pres. Of jag club and wanted to park one of his better models in the paddock… thanks
My understanding is, Ferrari's only in the Ferrari paddock. All other cars park in an area next to the Ferrari paddock. Several years ago I parked my Lamborghini Gallardo in the Ferrari paddock. It didn't go over very well with the Ferrari employees. They found me and ripped me one!
Looks like I'll be going on Sunday. Were are you guys going to meet in Sac? I've seen two locations posted.
Mike, you'll want to join the folks meeting in Roseville: ...depart by ~7:20 [from] the Peet's at Nugget Market on Park Dr. in Roseville/Rocklin [meeting] at ~7:00 for coffee.... Map is here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=771+Pleasant+Grove+Boulevard,+Roseville,+CA&aq=&sll=38.791824,-121.280791&sspn=0.006991,0.012757&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=771+Pleasant+Grove+Blvd,+Roseville,+Placer,+California+95677&ll=38.7897,-121.279589&spn=0.006991,0.012757&z=17 The West Sac location is just where I'm going to be waiting, and as you guys approach, I'll be joining the caravan. If you're going this weekend, and Roseville is out of the way for you, you're welcome to join me - I'll be right here: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=4800+West+Capitol+Avenue,+West+Sacramento,+CA&aq=&sll=38.56924,-121.581059&sspn=0.112203,0.204105&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=4800+W+Capitol+Ave,+West+Sacramento,+Yolo,+California+95691&z=17 Looking forward to seeing you all, hanging with the FOG folks, and getting onto the track with you! Mike, it's been FOREVER since I've seen you - about 4 years, to be exact! Orrie
I'll be there. The girlfriend is in Italy, so I'll most likely be there solo. I would like to meet up with you guys at some point. I'll be the kid wearing the driving cap.
Uh...new guy question....are FOG members goiing to Infineon as a group?...If so,where and what time??..THX!
I'll be going on Sunday as well with my father and my girlfriend. I'll be the kid with the black Folk|Photography polo and I'll be taking tons of photos and video. The weather is supposed to be great! High-70s and sunny skies! Really excited for this weekend; going to be a long week at school! -G.B. Edit: On a side note about what cars are/aren't allowed in the Ferrari paddock. From what I've seen from past years is that Ferraris are allowed in the main section by the hill. There is a section between where the Ferraris park and where the transport trailers are staged. I've seen anything from Lamborghinis, to R8s, to Maseratis, to Ford GTs parked in that section. Perhaps that tiny slice of parking is accessible to other exotics?
Yes, the FOG group and others will be meeting at FofSF in Mill Valley and driving over together. Cr6man it may be convenient for you to come with the FofSV group as they will be leaving from the dealership as well.
