Looks good...the only thing I don't like is the 10,000 miles in two years, then 5,000 in the next 13 years. Edit: I like the 10,000 miles over two years, but I don't like that it was only driven 5,000 miles over the next 13 years
Forget it! Emailed 3 times with no response. I live only minutes away and wanted to check it out. Also, says service done at 11K which was 14 years ago and it has not been registered in the last 2 and who knows how long it has been sitting before that. I don't know why people post ads if they are not actually willing to answer questions or have you show up and look at the car.
True...I was going to comment that the add is misleading in that regard to rookie, or only tells half the story because you need to know the mileage AND the time between service, because one will trump the other and in this case it is the time between. Are you in the market for a 348?
What about the two that are being offered by the brotherhood? Copterjon - http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=299309 rbellezza - http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=327054 And a recent major (just two months ago) on rbellezza's 348 - http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=320733
That's a beautiful colour. I'd love to own that one. If I was shopping right now, I don't think I'd be too worried about the service intervals... I would just assume it needed things like new tyres, new brakes, and a major service prior to being properly enjoyed and factor that into my offer. (Experts, please correct me here if that would be foolhardy!) Not being able to check it out when you're virtually on its doorstep is a little worrying. I would have thought the owner would be pleased to have the car inspected, as they say in their advert. How long has it been since you mailed? All the best, Andrew.
Andrew, I am never shy about admitting that I am not an expert, however I do feel comfortable enough to claim that 11 year old belts/tensioners etc "should" be a cause for concern, and at the very least should have an influence on the selling price.
It seems like the car hasn't really been driven, so if the belts are still intact then hopefully the engine is ok for the moment. So assuming you are going to do a major immediately upon purchase, and factor the cost of that into your offer, would it be a problem? Or are these things indicators of something beyond getting the service up to date will need to be done? All the best, Andrew.
I don't see Copterjon's car for sale anywhere except for the referenced 1 year old post which includes no info. How does one go about finding out whats going on? I have contemplated rbellezza's car already.
My apologies - I just re-read your post and saw that you did in fact mention to get the major done immediately and factor it into the price....therefore disregard my post See, I told you I was no expert
I emailed him 3 times over a period of 4 days with all my contact info as late as 3 days ago. I don't know what gives.
I don't want to hijack this thread but what do you guys think about this one? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180689145374&viewitem=#ht_2225wt_1127
Where's Carbon when you need him? I know, I'll devise a "Carbon Signal" to get his attention! Image Unavailable, Please Login Theeeeeere. That ought to do the trick. All the best, Andrew.
It amazes me how many people put the wheels on backwards on the 348. Does it do anything untoward from an aerodynamic perspective? All the best, Andrew.
I do like the SS rear look better than my strakes. Anybody ever done a conversion from strakes to the SS look? I don't want to emulate the 355 using Huskers solution (a very fine solution that looks great but not my style after all). I am just wondering how difficult it is to do. Kai
Andrew, only you could make a Carbon signal. I don't know the number of the SS, but I can tell you that it's mid-40s. If someone actually hears back from the guy, please let me know as I'd like to learn the exact number of this SS as well.
I think John just got tired of all the trolls jacking him around and he just took the car off the market and is enjoying it. I just talked to John awhile back and I think he's still interested in selling it at great price, not just giving it away. As the initial owner of this beautiful 348 TB I can assure everyone that no expense was ever spared in maintaining and upgrading the car, also John is fanatical in it's maintenance. Many members on this board are familiar with the old Bushmobile and can vouch for it's reputation...a great deal for someone, I wish I had it back.
