How to remove front lower spoiler?

    I have not started this project yet, but planning ahead for when I do. How does the lower front spoiler/valance come off? It's a US spec car. I see the bolts along the fender bottom, is there any other mounts? Is it tack welded in place anywhere? Thanks!!

    Mine let go this weekend, on an empty stretch of country road at high speed. It appeared to have been glued back on by the former owner and couldn't stand up to the aerodynamic stress. I bought a new one today, which will be attached in 2 weeks, I'd guess. I'll do my best to answer your questions then. Bill Grady

    there was a thread a while back. basically it's just a lot of 10mm bolts and sealant holding it on, the most difficult are on the corners.

    Correct, a lot of 10mm bolts. The tricky ones to get back on are the bolts deeeeep inside towards the front of the car.

    The best way is to jack up the car, remove the wheels, and fender wells... you will then have full access to the bolts.

    Pull slighly forwards and lightly down and it should come off pretty easy. there is an access plate on the bottom of the car that you remove as well to get at the bolts holding the back of the spoiler to the bottom of the car.

    +1. Was just looking at this last night. The only thing I would add is to unbolt the blower fans and move them to the side for better access.

    Dude save yourself some trouble, Jack up the car and then turn the wheels inboard to get better access then switch sides. No need to remove the wheels when you can turn the wheel a little bit.

    I was able to remove this today, thanks for the tips! I just turned the wheels and that gave plenty of room to get the bolts, At first I didnt see the one on the wheelwell side closest to the front of the car. Just for future reference there are two bolt to remove from inside the wheelwell area! With a little tugging the fighting the spoiler came off!

    yep, that's why I recommended taking out the liner.. good luck, going back on is pretty easy, just a pain to get tightend.
