Well, it looks like another ridiculously priced item. 1k per set? Just crazy. So I am thinking someone should make some. Has anyone made any yet? I think the later ones used on the TR's are aluminum and utilize more o-rings. Same part. Not being crazy about putting aluminum bushings in aluminum holes, I was thinking of making the original style out of PEEK. It has good tensile and shear, good temperature resistance (410F or so) and is not too expensive. I think 1" stock runs $48 per foot of which 16" which would be enough for 1 set of 8. I have not pulled mine out yet, but will tonight. Considering the state of other things in that general area after 27 years, I do not have much hope they will all be usable. I would have thought that there would be a VW or Porsche crossover part, but have not found it.

Yes l saw those. But...glass filled ptfe has a really low tensile around 1600psi I think. Peek is about 10 times that. Also l think that price 25 euro is steep. 250 us per 8 plus Oring's and shipping. Steve l thought I read you had some bad experience with TR bushings. Was it galling or incompatibility with the metal of the injectors.

I can make them of PEEK or aluminum the amount of work would be the same. Say 7.50 for material and 11.25 for setup and turning on CNC. With O-rings 20.00 each. Aren't the ones in the horsey box for TRs about 4 or 500? Aluminum would actually be much cheaper as the material cost would be almost nothing.

No, no real problem with the TR Aluminum bushing except they were a little hard to remove the first time after sitting for 20 years due to the fuel varnish build-up around the OD. IMO, the price gets a little stupid because the need for replacement is so low -- but no doubt there is a F tax too ;)

Can't fault the F/Bosch designers for opting for a thermally non-conductive material (phenolic?) for 113309, and that's one downside for the Aluminum -- and might be a reason to use PEEK (or PTFE) over Aluminum. It's not a high stress/high load situation so I wouldn't be that concerned about using the glass-filled PTFE -- JMO.

I just removed some of the originals from my car. The hole for the injector was WAY oversized on some of them. I wonder if this was caused by wear from the injector vibrating? Will post some epics after I charge the camera.

Sure, plus some thermal degradation plus no non-metallic does well with 25 years exposure to gasoline so you know the designers weren't prepared for ~25 years exposure to gasohol ;)
