SO, can we take some bets here...

will a Countach S1, (early S1-Bravo wheels-small guages) for the sake of argument say in solid condition..mostly original but always well maintained, records, history, a good strong driver quailty but not a 10 point Pebble Beach car, not seen the market in quite some time, lenghty owner history...

sell for $425K in the next 60 days..??

It all depends, if a buyer and seller can come to an agreement. How badly does the buyer want the car ? Does the buyer toss and turn at night while thinking about the car :) ? The advantage of the S1, when compared to other exotics, is that it is not an easy car to locate. You are not going to open eBay and other listings and find nine cars for sale.

...those small cheap S/W gauges !

...and you can't even see them with the reflection!

$425 is a bargain. You should shoot for $500k or more. Assuming it is a 1978.

there is one for sale for less
    SW car

I agree, $425K seems like crazy money.

Another reason to look for the S1, with the big hot Jaeger gauges.:D

If you want the best, you have to pay market price. The Countach series, has a pecking order. On a side note, the S2, is an excellent value that will continue to appreciate.

You do have other cars that are priced in similar fashion. The prices are based on supply and demand. With less than 50 cars floating around, the demand will have to work with this production #.

But, is there a price difference if the S1 was a 1978 and NOT a 1979?

I think all the small-gauge cars are highly desirable and similarly valued based on condition (besides 1002).

Another car that sat on the market for 3 years without selling from 2009 to 2012, did so for a reason. A perfect car that had to be pried out of the owner's hands was what was represented. After 3 years of being sale-proof. There were "accident" rumblings, and lo-and-behold, it too has the wrong front lenses. In fact, it was involved in an accident, although varying degrees of severity are reported depending on whom you talk to.....

    Thanks for pointing that out.

Look very closely at the front end of the white/red Annivesario. It has the wrong turn-signal lenses. As per my notes in the other thread, nothing spells "frontal accident" more clearly than a Countach with the wrong turn-signal lenses. That's when we bring in a seasoned body & repair specialist analyze the body & chassis. Accordingly, this car has been for sale on-and-off for years...

The fact the car sat for so long is the price, surely. It is also clear that something occured on the front.

What is funny is we know of a documented Andretti red anniv that was in a crash in houston on May 2009 while owned by Lambo Houston. At the same time the 87 was on sale in NJ.

Is there an Andretti car did not have some sorts of crash? :)

I believe the person listed above is the likely one to put some light on this issue. He had the car for some times.
I have 2008 pictures already showing the frosted lenses at that time. This was before the car went on Ebay around Jan 2009.

I cant post the pict because of some quota i reached :(
But since Andretti only got the car 3 years and the car has 2 owners by 2009, the truth lie with the 2nd owner who used the above NJ shop to sell the car and of course, with the car records.
