CK You quietly acquired a mondial! I m still looking for one. Jon I saw your ex ride in for AC job. Really nice. Regards Michael
Hello & congrats! I always have a thing for Mondial as well because the rear fits the kids ^^ & it's the first Ferrari I ever test drove! Is it black? Photos please Well, my 328 was maintained by James of Tedco & I sent it to Exquisite M who royally charged me RM14K for a full service, belt job, water pump, fix leaks & all bushes Best of all, the car didn't feel any difference after that. Hi, yes. The new owner had the 456 sent to Singapore for a full run through & a quick check shows that sorry to say this but the KL workshop don't know what they were doing & screwed up. So much so that I'm now also sending the 328 to SinMing. Failing of which I'll ship the car to UK for a proper job. We lost faith with the quality of workmanship, experience & prices of KL workshops & even Singapore is failing on this aspect. We have cars in UK & their level of maintenance is top-notch plus very reasonable & in fact, rather cheap compared to ours. Sorry for the rant.
Hi Michael, haha. it was open secret. how's ur 456 hunting? Thanks Jon. Yes, the black one. You saw the car before? Congrats on your lastest purchase of the 328GTS & 360CS. My car at Kingswell auto now for some work on the steering after PPI. Hopefully I can bring her back on Thurs morning for Raya long weekend & take some photos to share here.. rear 'seats' & more "affordable" price are the main reasons I get the Mondial lol You can try Kingswell at OUG before sending your 328 to Sin Ming (Autopoint? I always go there). The workshop is >30years old & was authorized Ferrari workshop for Hong Seh back then, iirc.
Ok that's nice to hear. Am surprised that there's quality workshops in OUG area as we usually go there for makan I'm also picking up the 328 on Monday & hopefully for a proper shake down after all the work
Hi fellow malaysian ferrari comrades, I'm in the midst of purchasing a Ferrari 360 F1 modena, and have looked at a few already. I came across this particular one on Mudah's classified, and was just wondering if you guys have seen the car personally and knows the owner? Just wanted to know more about the history of the car and if it had any problems that you guys are aware of. It previously did not have the F430 stripes on it (as pictured in the advert) and I've managed to get some other pictures from a Facebook page of ATP Motorsports at Sunway which is pictured alongside 2 other F430's. I suppose this workshop specializes in servicing Ferraris ? Any info about that as well ? Here is the link to the advert: Ferrari 360 (B) F1 MODENA - Cars for sale Kuala Lumpur - Mudah.my Pictures of the F360 (number plate BJJ 30) at ATP Motorsports: Please do feel free to private message me if you wish not to disclose the information you have to the public. I know the Ferrari community in Malaysia is a pretty small and tight one so everybody knows one another. Your help and advices would be much appreciated. I just don't want to end up buying a lemon.
Dear Fellow M'sian Ferrari comrade, I am about to purchase a Ferrari 360 modena F1, and i would like to know if you guys have came across this particular 360 in Red, with number plate BJJ 30 ? I know everybody pretty much knows everyone within the Ferrari community in Malaysia so it would be great if you guys could tell me about the car and its history if you happen to know? The owner also drives a Black F430 with 2 yellow stripes over the roof and hood with number plate BEN 3333. Apparently the 360 modena gets taken care of by a workshop in Sunway called ATP Motorsports. And from their facebook pictures, it seems like they have done multiple Ferraris before. Here is the URL link to the Mudah advertisement which shows it having the new stripes over it: Ferrari 360 (B) F1 MODENA - Cars for sale Kuala Lumpur - Mudah.my Here are the pictures of it being at the ATP Motorsports workshop. https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/486554_352572848154572_1733220496_n.jpg https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/524353_352572941487896_189671744_n.jpg Feel free to private message me if you happen to know any info on this car. Cheers guys.
Heya bro, no worries man....it was a pleasure helping out a fellow brethren ;-) give me a shout once you reach Ipoh....hope the jam won't be too horrible.....keep a lookout on the temp gauge!
bro, you paid 14grand for a service and you sent it back again to SinMing? ok what did SinMing say which had to be done since the RM14k service? it's a 328, all which is needed is a good mechanical mechanic. these days you get fixers.....throw the problematic part(s) and fix a new one.....they don't know jack about fixing it up.... the ex-456, what did the KL fellows screw up on? which KL workshop was this? plz PM me if you don't want to reveal the name here, so I can avoid them the next time!
sorry bro....i can't help and i doubt anyone here knows every single car on the market..... however you should call up Naza Italia and speak to one of the guys there....they should be able to give you a quick history if the car has had been there before....... and if it is a true 2002 manuf. model, i think they sorted out the F1 TCU for the 360 post 2002..(pre 2002 had some hiccups, read it up on the 360 forum)...so look into it.....besides that, get a PPI.....it's a must.......
From what I could see from the registration card picture he sent to me , it is 99 manufactured and imported into msia in january 2002. So with that said it would most likely have the older tcu. One thing that worries me also is that I'm not sure if the variator on the exhaust valve (a recall campaign by Ferrari during 2001 or 2002 on early model modenas in which the variator was known to break) has been changed before it got shipped to msia.
I'm pissed. Happily went to collect car but they were adjusting the idling & then only fired on half a bank so I have to turn away. This is not the first time & have to keep sending cars back for minor or major diagnosis which is a big turn off. The car is still in the KL workshop @ the moment & not driven extensively since the major which is disappointing as I actually took her up to Genting before the work with no issues! About the 456. I've changed two air-con compressors in the past 3-4years & the most recent being less than a year ago but because I rarely drive it, they keep on charging the gas then reported that the pipes are broken & must remove the dash to fix When my friend took it to Singapore, the air-con guy immediately spotted that the seals on the compressor are leaking which is common to the brand & then found that the whole system is clogged up with slurg and damaged the compressor etc. so they need to flush the whole system. The dashboard doesn't need to be removed. We'll see what else.
Sorry bro can't help you much. What you can do is get the Vin & engine no from dealer if they release then go to Naza & have a run through the system to see what update it has. Otherwise, simply book an appointment for the car to the workshop for a full PPI. You'll have to pay some fee but it's worth a professional report. The car probably needs engine/gearbox mounting to be changed by now plus the bushes etc. & these are 5 figures job+parts while the car is with them, they can also tell how many % of the clutch is left. Anything above 50% is fine.
and most importantly, the cambelts...... it should have been done the last not more than 5 years ago at least..... if it has not, factor it into your bargaining.......i saw one 360 recently whereby the engine oil was not changed in 3 years (ferrari actually now recommends 3 years for cambelts now!!! and here we are talking just about engine lube!!)....the owner had the cheek to say that it had not travelled 10000km yet!!! i was like wdf and he absolutely believed that's the right thing to do!!!
sorry to hear this bro! is this EM? so the major was done and they can't get the tuning up? why is only one bank firing? i hope they aren't making you pay for their half standard capabilities or ineptness
Thanks mate. Won't mention name here & has just been informed that it was due to a loose wire & they've nailed it down with double locking nuts. Looks like it's best to drop the engine & have a complete rebuilt to rid of any gremblins so we can enjoy the car with peace. This car is supposed to be one of the best around town so can't imagine what the rest are going to be like
Hi Jon, sorry & sad to hear that. Looks like we don't really have a good & reliable workshop for older Ferrari in Malaysia. From my research, Tedco & Kingswell are the better one..
not sure of Tedco, but after having a chat with the Kingswell guy, I'm pretty impressed with his workshop and his knowledge......an old school guy who knows his stuff and doesn't bull**** trying to make up **** when he doesn't know something..... it's hard to find a mechanic who calls a spade a spade these days.....they are mostly becoming like 2nd hand car dealers.....
bro, Kingswell is installing my steering rack. I will collect the car tmr morning. When you back to Ipoh?
bro have a great drive ;-) i really hope for your sake the jam will not be too bad. and to all my Muslim brothers and also to all Malaysians as a whole, SELAMAT HARI RAYA. MAAF ZAHIR BATIN . have a great one and God Bless.....
Thanks bro, in KL now. jammed 1 hour last nite.. hope morning traffic ok.. Original 360 rims for sale in mudah.. I prefer 348's.. haha Ferrari f360 bbs rim - Car Accessories & Parts for sale Kuala Lumpur - Mudah.my Selamat Hari Raya to all
Hi guys, anyone knew what happened to the 360 modena that got rear ended by the white cayman at sepang 2 years ago? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p6PbsBmKIzo]2011 Super GT Ferrari Porsche Accident in Sepang - YouTube[/ame] Did it got repaired and sold off? Also guys, do all 360 modena come with red brake calipers? The calipers of the 360 modena that I am interested in getting is apparently in black. Are there any certain year models that came in black brake calipers? It kept me wondering.

Just a couple of bumpers cracked, definitely repaired by now so no sweat about them I believe black calipers are standard equipment while coloured ones are option but can be locally painted for a fraction of the price. Selamat Hari Raya bros! Drive safe
thanks for the reply. I was just worried that the 360 i'm looking to get is the one in the video. The seller did mention to me that his 360 which he bought over a year ago happens to have a GT wing and black painted F430 wheels with red outer lip just like the one in the video. The previous owner took these out when it was sold to him. That caught my attention and kept me thinking that it might be the one in the video. Anyway, the 360 i'm looking to get is a 99 manufactured and was registered in january 2002. Do you guys know when was the actual year of recall/campaign by Ferrari for the early batch of 360 modenas in regards to the failure of the timing variator ? My concern is that if the recall/campaign was done after 2002 (since it was already landed in Msia) , then there is a high possibility that the 360 i'm looking to get might not have that part fixed/replaced. But if the recall/campaign was done before 2002 (before landed in M'sia), then the timing variator issue would have been solved. The car wasn't imported by Naza in 2002, so that means the car have not been serviced by Naza ever since.
Bro no point sitting behind this screen & worry away. Get your butt off & send the car into Naza for a proper PPI & you'll know everything in a couple of days. Nobody can tell you if the car is accident free, lemon or has campaigns updated. 2002 is the year Ferrari SpA issued the recall but if owners didn't return their 360s for it then....So, if seller is not cooperative then walk for another better car. That rear-end in video is very minor & don't think the chassis is hit.
