I have an old Fox XK band radar detector with the two pitot looking tubes on the front grille. Still works too! Goes off every time I get near high tension wires. I believe these were dealer installed on my 1978 308 GTS. Like you, I am struggling on what to do with them. Keep or delete?

Interesting that after about 12K miles the Iridium plugs had gone from 0.025 to about 0.040. I'm not sure that I noticed any change in performance, but I was glad to have the plugs back to 0.025 and a more substantial electrode setup that hopefully will last a little longer.

When I last changed the plugs all extenders where in good shape so I reused them. This time around 5 out of 8 had longitudinal cracks along their body from the top down. I have a new set [of 8] coming from T.Rutlands [$17 ea.] which I will install when they get here.

Drove her and my wife over to Ray's Grill for dinner. Stopped at Da Vinci Restorante on the way back to see Chef Alex's yellow F355. Nice car! Great night!!

Replaced a relay to stop the right hand side headlight bouncing up and down on its own!!
Swapped out some of the fuses while I was there and tightened up the connectors on the fuse board.
Fixed the interior light. It's now comming on when I open the drives door, but not the passenger door for some reason!! Will need to investigate more next week

Walked to where my GT4 lives (it's 4 and a bit miles away depending whether I take the scenic or boring route). Fitted the new relay for the headlighgts and all now works as intended except the inner headlamp is still not lighting. But that will get sorted later in the week.

I was only with the car for 15 minutes but the leather smelt really beautiful since I treated it with Leatherique.

Next drive? Maybe Thursday - HOPEFULLY

Fixed the headlight linkage on the driver's side pod, cleaned out the cabin fan "filter" behind the lower front grill, pulled out both blower fans an completely cleaned them, disassembled the center console clock and cleaned it out really well. Now its keeping perfect time again.

Tracked down a loose wire. Now the radio works.
Not that I ever turn it on but the hazard flashers are on the same circuit and you never know.

Two new radiator fan motors from Jag dealer which were perfect replacements for the originals sans paint. Painted the original fan blades and the new fan motors. And installed all through the grill openings (no bumper or radiator removal required).

Round two was new original fuse boxes. Had to modify the white one to match the i power inputs. Add a couple of doublers as well to white box. New covers and decals for them as well. Very little drama for this change out.

Replaced the cabin light on my GTS so it now goes on when my doors open and have a delayed off when doors are closed. Hasn't had that function since I owned it. Turns out part of the old lamp housing was crushed inside. Amazing that someone would just mash the thing in destroying its function rather then take the time to pop it in correctly.

When all else fails read the damn manual. - wife

Check the parts xref thread. There's a cheap, readily available replacement.
Getting the new puppy on...that's a different matter.

I took my 1988 328GTB to Mario LoMedico's Exotic Cars in Shrewsbury NJ (732-747-6720) for a timing belt service and fluids change. I also asked them to find the cause of an intermittent starting problem. The old belts were 6 years old with about 2,000 miles on them and they didn't look too bad (no cracking) but they were beginning to stiffen and dry out a bit...I suppose I could have easily gotten another year out of them, but why take that chance? Mario's Ferrari technician, Danny, found the cause of my starting problem (corrosion at the fuse box) and the car now starts and drives great, especially with new synthetic gear lube in the transaxle.
I've had Mario's service my 328 for the past twenty years and they've always done vey good work. They're honest, reasonably-priced and highly experienced.

You posted this in the parts XREF thread, right? Please, with part numbers if you have them.

I did mine without incident. When mine broke I was in the boonies of NY/NJ/PA and happened to be near a small local Ford dealer who wouldn't touch the Ferrari. Saturday like 3pm minutes before closing. Not good. If it weren't for his enthusiastic mechanics, I would have had to flatbed it home. There's a thread about it somewhere in the archives.
