Of the 4 pages...how many guys are actually interested in buying the car and how many are just voicing their opinion on this car?? if you have no desire to buy it..quit posting..its pretty simple.. even a Ferrari owner could understand this.. My guess is about 1%.. so it should have about 4 post in this thread..
Thank you, this has been my train of thought all along. If your not an interested buyer, please do not concern yourself. I know the quality of my car and of it's worth. The blue Ferrari that sold for 25k was just that, a 25k car that was blue. I believe I have viewed this car and if so, in comparison I should raise the price of mine by many K's (if it is the one I viewed for sale) but then again, a blue Ferrari? Voicing an opinion on a piece of paper, not the car itself is the issue here. If your not a prospective buyer..Don't concern yourself with if, what, for or why. Joshtownsend, thank you for a thoughtful posting
And, what does this have to do with the posts, or anything for that matter...do you sing in the shower?
I am the guy who appreciates all the conversation about this car and it's potential issues. I am sure there are many new Ferrari buyers who do also. I am a car guy, but I have limited knowledge of Ferraris. While some of these posts are worthless and just angry spam ( many of those are by the OP ) most of the posts have valuable insight to help the unwashed learn and gain insight into the Ferrari world. Tom, Do you know why your beautiful car has a salvage title? As a potential buyer I would like to know. With all the flooding in the past 5 years, there are millions of flood cars out on the market. Those cars are not worth $5 .
Yeah.. you mean this POS?? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/348-355-sponsored-bradan/459555-joshtownsends-1992-348-engine-out-service-maintenance-thread.html i agree.. it was a horrible deal..the buyer must be a complete moron and got what he deserved.. im sure he will be putting it back on the market for twice that after servicing haha
The fact that the OP is only disclosing the reason for salvage to "serious buyers only" insinuates there is a reason to hide why, and it only accentuates it when added to the attitude and tone of the rest of the posts. Don't be obtuse, you may have serious buyers here if you would just be transparent about the reason, hiding it at this point does you no good.
I agree 100%. Everyone here probably knows a person who would be interested in this car history and all and could actually help Tom sell this car. But... I have to take the time to tell me buddy about the car My buddy then has to get in touch with the seller My buddy and the seller have to converse The seller then needs to determine if my buddy is a legit buyer Then he gets to find out the cars true history...? Then my buddy needs to do research and detrmine if the car is for him or not Way too many steps/trouble to go through when it's still a buyers market and clean title cars can be had for the same or less $.
The apeal (or "hook") of this thread is that most people posting here are actually trying to be helpful to the seller by trynig to explain/encourage that full disclosure and transperancy up front goes a long way to selling these types of cars quickly be it good or bad. Yet the seller seems to fight that helpfullness at every turn and views it as an attack...it's compelling stuff.

A friend of mine crashed, and died..leaving oh, about 27 unfinished vehicle projects scattered over three properties. His widow (they were separated and living halfway across the State from each other, so..??) was SO pissed off, she has sold all of his stuff and STILL not put a headstone on his grave, two years later.. I sit, and talk to a little piece of cardboard with his name typed on it.....
He does not want to tell, he is not going to tell, so if you want to know, dig HARD on the VIN yourself..the answer is "out there" which is why his stance is a little thin, to be sweeping it all under the rug. Where is Carbon? Show us some stuff, Carby?? Or a call to FML might turn up something, although they quit about the time the 348s flooded America, with unibody floor pans, that green glue, left over from building the F40s and all that...
That blue car had enough hands on it, to qualify for a Reality TV Show.....(with apologies to Will H., who I know was doing a good job on the restoration.)
