Timing is everything and different makes & models in the car market are rising, peaking and falling at different times. Some Countach variants (LP400 & S1) had a peak @ Pebble in August, and have since posted public numbers down by 30%. That's not disputable.

But as always, everything is subject to interpretation.

If I owned an anniversary (purely because of numbers produced), and was looking to turn a profit, then I'd 100% be selling it now. They night peak higher, but pretty sure they will trough lower. I'm not selling mine as I'm not looking to profit, and I might never find such a good low-body again (it's one of 2 in UK now).

Hmmmm...let's take a look at this. Joe always talk about stating the facts and rightfully so. Facts are very important. It is amazing to constantly read about the "plethora" of Anniversary Countachs (US Fuel Injected) that were made as well as the constant bashing of this variant by several F Chat members who do have skin in the game because they own an S 1 or S 2 or live in Europe where they claim collectors hate FI. When I was searching to buy my Countach it took me 3 years to find the right one. There were just 165-170 produced 25 years ago for the US market depending upon which data set you subscribe to. The rest of the lot minus the 17 -23 that went to Canada were not FI and reside in other parts of the world. The Anniversary is hands down the best sorted and mechanically crafted of all the variants that Lamborghini produced. How many of the original 165 units do some of you 'bashers' think are still in the US. I have personally seen numerous examples leave the country bound for Japan, Malaysia, Saudis Arabia, Europe etc. I know of two destroyed by Hurricane Sandy not too mention others that were in accidents or totaled in the 25 years since they hit US soil. This has all been mentioned before by a handful of us who admittedly might have skin in the game because we own an Anniversary model but they are FACTS!!! So if you want to say you dislike the model because of the body style or added appendages that is one thing but IMHO you sound uneducated and are factually incorrect when you start talking about production numbers of Anniversary Countachs like they were a Honda Accord.
Add to that, Countachs that were over restored, not maintained or driven into the ground and the selection narrows even further.
The Anniversary Countach has on a percentage basis been the best investment of any Countach Variant over the last 18 months.
I should not really be surprised at the reaction of some of these F Chatters because although they represent a small number of the overall Countach community they tend to post more frequently about this subject matter, for reasons I will let others decide. When I tried to post that prices were on the rise for the Anniversary 18 months ago, these same Fchatters told me I was crazy even when factual sales data was posted.

I am not speaking about Foot Soldier specifically. I just used his quote to address the numbers issue.

The Testarossa has doubled in price as well in less than a year. It is great to see all variants doing well. I just wanted to once again clear the air about the 'misinformation' that sadly is constantly reiterated by a few.
Factually, how many well sorted, pristine, low mileage, all original, fully documented examples of Anniversary Countachs are still on US soil?

The fact that we have seen a three to four fold increase in the Anniversary Countach just in the last 18 months speaks volumes.

who knows maybe the slow and steadier trajectory of the anny will prove to be a blessing in the long run. I think its great to see decent annys trading 340k to 380k...Antonio you definitely nailed the call...even as an owner I was skeptical due to the hugely negative sentiments towards the car on this board...

also what I like about my anny is its simple - Im not smart enough to figure out the differences between s1 and s2 etc...

if a non ground effect clean DD comes available I am buyer...PM if there are any...white or red and no stories....

Those "hugely negative sentiments" fall into two categories. One category is folks that genuinely prefer the initial style and slight variations. The other drink the Kool-Aid. Don't drink the Kool-Aid.

Lets all agree that the public could care less which version they see. I have never heard anyone say, "Oh, that's just an Anniversary model."

Personal taste is for the actual driver, buy and drive the one you like and or can afford. The spectators love them all!

    IMHO

Slow & steady is always good in any market, so I think you are right there.

Also, I agree, its great to see the cars trading in that range, considering where they have come from, and at that range, perhaps demand can be maintained.

A perfect description of todays market. And to add FACTS as Sackey puts it :

Beautiful 500s sold in europe 3 months ago for 215t usd. Clueless seller.

Stunning 5000 QV for sale in europe, owner now refusing anyone to look at the car unless they can produce a bank statement showing and proving they can buy at the asking price of 750t plus usd. (the asking price last time I called and asked in oct '14)
A well known and rescpected multiple Countach owner whom refuses to sell an A1 early QV car for a penny less.

FACTS showing two ends of the market.
Clueless sellers happy to take their rewards on the increased prices last 5 years.
CT enthusiasts refusing to sell TOP condition cars for low base values.

And this market gap will continue to get bigger in the years to come as more genuine enthusiasts hit the market and look after these cars.

Unless you need to, or intend to sell in the near future. Who cares! I may care about value in ohhh, mmmm about 35-40 years, when, if I'm still alive, i may sell my CT as I'll no longer be able use her. But there again, maybe not. Hell of a piece of art huh :)

Spring is on the way. Get out and enjoy your love and joy, whatever the variant!

I doubt that every car must be restored, we are talking about 2000 built, if 1/4 of them is restored it might be enough for the store collectors.

If the Prices Keep rising you'll no more see a CT on the road... when I remember how many smiles I see at every drive the world would loose a lot.

Do you mean who did the conversion to FI or who converted it back?

I don't know who converted to FI - but Fast Cars in redondo (a sponsor here) converted it back.

The question tended more towards, where was the car delivered originally, was it a private import to US.

Great question, I don't know. Seems that really the only history I can find on the car and that was taken from ebay in 2003. I prefer white usually but this cream is really nice.

Hello Drew, saw your Countach at Fast Cars yesterday when I stopped by to pick up my Ferrari. The sidedrafts were back on and they were elbows deep in the engine bay. The car looked great! Looking forward to seeing more of your pictures when it is all done.
