With all the flipping going on, a car that has been marked up several times is going to burn a hole in someone's pocket sooner or later.

Auction ended. There is contact info in the item description. Note this car has been listed at least 3 times on eBay, with a high bid of around $45k. Here's the link:

"AC needs a re-charge." (Then re-charge it if it is that simple!)

If I read that one more time in an ad I am going to scream!

Are you going to check it out? The grey is nice. Sure, it needs some work but the T coupes aren't getting any cheaper.

The owner probably screamed when the dealer said "Expect about $2k for the a/c repair".

By the looks of the ad, including its photos, they seem more interested is just unloading the car.

Restoring a 348/Mondial t is exceedingly expensive. Better to buy a well loved car instead. ;)

I don't know about the grey... doesn't move me at all.

I think it's a beautiful car, pretty high miles though and questionable service history makes this a hard sell.

There's a triple black cab on eBay right now. Every time I see a white or black cab I get serious envy. These cars just look so good in those colors!

I saw that. And, since I'm now watching Mondials closely, I have to ask: why hasn't this car sold? And why hasn't the extremely similar T coupe at Blackhorse not sold either? If the T is the most desirable Mondial, and the Coupe is the most desirable variant, and there were only 43 T coupes for North America, what's the problem? Has anyone looked at these two cars in the metal?

Is it price? The price has been dropped quite a bit by the Toyota dealer, and mid-50s seems like an extremely reasonable ask. I think that 50-something for this car, if it's a good one, is going to seem ludicrously cheap in a few years.

Is it the old adage that rarity does not equal desirability? I'm personally on a hunt for a 3.2 coupe, because I just like the look better, and I don't want an engine-out-service car, but otherwise I'd be all over one of these cars like white on rice. I like the idea that I would own one of an extremely limited number of cars (which is why I enjoy my US 89 328 GTB).

I'm a dealer, and I study prices of these types of cars all day long. I'm just having trouble figuring this one out. I guess the answer really is: the market is speaking, at least for now.

The most common is it's a T aka like the 355 has some re-thinking ...BUT agreed this is the model IMO to get. My 'newer' '90 T had some probs as usual like the fuse box and seat mice, but this older model has metal strakes, and larger rear seats and no mice. I'd put the Radio in storage and replace with some other items and low ball the price about $5k just for dickering, but would love to have this one

other than it being a FL car, don't know why it's taking so long to sell...gotta be something

I do know that according to Ferrari of New England this T was part of a collection that they bought that included models mostly from the 80's. I'm curious as to what the Toyota dealer has into it. In my opinion people are shying away from the T's due to the engine out service but once all is said and done I don't think overall maintenance cost will be that much more than an older Mondial. I'm a big fan of the interior on the T I love the dash layout and the wheel but I prefer the bigger side strakes and the fenders on the 3.2's

I think you are right. People are uninformed.

Engine out service increases the cost by about $2000. If you do it every 5 years, that is $400/year "extra". Hardly enough to impact the running costs of these cars. If you are a DIY'er, then it does make some difference, although a serious DIY'er will rig up a way to drop the subframe.

BTW, I like the bigger cheese graters of the 3.2, also but the interior of the t is world's better, to say nothing of adjustable suspension and power steering!

    Regards,
    Jerry

Take a careful look at this one.

If I remember correctly, about a year ago, there was a black t for sale in the southeast. One of the F-chat members went to look at it, and discovered it was full of rust.

I'm not saying that this is that car - but I'd take a very close look at it.
